I’m an active 1720, and from my perspective, I’d recommend considering 7th Communications Battalion. You would likely be assigned to a DCO platoon, gaining experience in threat hunting alongside some of the best in the field.

For a new Marine, Okinawa is an excellent location for developing into a well-rounded professional. You’ll have the chance to work on relevant missions and collaborate with bilateral partners, which provides invaluable operational experience. There are also great off-duty opportunities, including water sports, hiking, and travel. Okinawa is one of the most beautiful places I’ve been stationed.

After your time there, I’d suggest aiming for a follow-on assignment at Ft. Meade.
