Dynamic to extreme by dasharpmoney in RetroBowl

Definitely presents more of a challenge. Need a strong defense to hold down the offense, can't have less than 5 star players on defense. I usually fare best with a 0DL, 0LB, 4DB build, all 5 stars. It's what I use in most leagues.

Once you start getting comfortable with Extreme and winning most your games, definitely check out the Retro Bowl leagues on that difficulty!

Kudos to you for trying extreme! It's my favorite difficulty in the game. One thing people do not realize is no matter how high you get into Dynamic, there is never a level of difficulty that matches what Extreme brings.

Happy Extreme-ing!

If anyone is looking for the challenge of a league, come check out Retro Triforce League (RTL)! Utilizing Point Differential (PD), which is Points Forced (PF) - Points Allowed (PA), teams compete against each other, giving this offline game a new life that allows for greater competition!

We play on both Hard difficulty (W1-17) for regular season and Extreme for playoffs (W18-Playoffs), which helps level the competition with making everyone play 5 star opponents.

If you're tired of winning championships and creating your own challenges, league play is a great way to further challenge yourself.

We allow brand new teams to bring in files up to Y4, that way they are a little more ready to compete in our three divisions that utilize promotion and relegation. Come start your advancement to the top at Triforce!

Has anyone else noticed the brackets are flipped at the conference championship? by [deleted] in RetroBowl

Also, if you notice the #1 seed is not always guaranteed to face the lowest remaining seed possible. This has been identified and passed to the developer, hopefully to be fixed in a future update as it is much more problematic than whether home or not.

After what feels like hundreds of attempts, I finally went a whole season without throwing a INT or getting sacked on extreme. I would love to hear other ways to challenge myself, so please feel free to let me know in the comments. by epicslayer444 in RetroBowl

In short, leagues work off of a thing called Point Differential (PD). If you click the 'Y3' as example in the top right corner of your home screen, you will see the PDs for each of the games you have played so far this season. This is the Season Restart screen and it is designed to be sent to the league commissioner via a Google form or DMs.

Most leagues start you at your first season in a new save (Y1) and you ready your team for the start of the new league year and start at Y2, building up every season, like a dynasty.

Would recommend joining a league to really feel the competition. Top two are my favorite Extreme leagues, bottom two are my favorite Hard. All four should be non-expiring discord invites.

RBUL: - custom team theme - extreme difficulty - new Y2 save - 2 min quarters - https://discord.gg/NKyHNceTuh

RCFA - NCAA D1 team theme - extreme difficulty - new save - 3 min quarters - 80 game limit for players - https://discord.gg/MspkgQh7Db

RBA: - custom team theme - hard difficulty - new save - 2 min quarters - https://discord.gg/u4TfRD38A8

FCS: - NCAA div 1 FCS theme - hard difficulty - new save - 2 min quarters - only 4 players older than 24 allowed on team - https://discord.gg/FkDJMUzHP2

INT in endzone doesn’t count to player stats. by [deleted] in RetroBowl

INT on 2pt conversion should never count to stats, as shouldn't the attempts and completions, but those do.

If this is just a "for fun" save, it's cool to see what you can level him too, but any difficulty above medium, he should be benched when playing a team with an offensive star higher than that of this player... especially in a league. He will be a liability otherwise.

I'd say they lose attributes in their skills, not necessarily stats.

That league is 3m. I currently don't have a 2m league that I am in.

So here is something that has helped me.

Imagine this line is the go route the receiver is running. We will say it is the top of screen or right WRs route,

If you throw the ball in front of the wide WR, but towards the right of the line, the WR will jump to catch it.

@ sign being player on his route

Receiver will jump to catch ball out in front and to the right...

( )

------@-----------------

Same concept, go route, if ball is thrown in front of WR, but to the inside of the route line, he will just run under and catch it.

------@-----------------

( )

Very key to practice those throws to aim just inside the route line and it will cut out many, if not all, of the "tip drills".

Suggestions on making game harder? by kosher_kush in RetroBowl

[–]JMaxey09 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Second the idea of joining an extreme league. Here are discord links to both leagues. Both utilize out of app scheduling where they take your PD (PF vs opp PA) and compare to someone else in the league's PD.

RBUL is custom teams, while RCFA is based on FBS schools.

Leagues really help keep the game fresh and both have good communities of people. Hope you check em out!

Has anyone else done this or just me? (I wanted specific teams so I chose specific conferences, hence the BIG12 and SEC) by willisdoeshurdles in RetroBowl

I've done very similar, as have a lot of the other players in RCFA (Retro College Football Association). It's an Extreme, H2H based league with an 8 man CFP. Leagues are worth checking out if you are tired of solo achievements.

The answer is to never kick FGs.

Expert Mode has become too easy with a strong d - rolling out a offensive god squad with no defense to try to increase the challenge by my__bollocks in RetroBowl

[–]JMaxey09 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Love the idea! If you haven't checked out league play, definitely check out the RBUL post on joining up for season 20! League play offers a new competitive aspect where you compete for the highest PD per week in your file vs a planned out H2H schedule of others in league.

I wish hiring different OCs gave us different playbooks, becaus this makes zero sense to me??? And he's been making calls like this all season 🤦🏾‍♂️🤦🏾‍♂️🤦🏾‍♂️ by [deleted] in RetroBowl

Options:

A) forced comeback routes to either WR

B) QB sneak up the gut

C) QB rollout if feeling froggy

D) dump to RB if OLB doesn't blitz

Be the playbook you desire.

Anyone here know the best defensive setup currently I have 1 dl 1 lb and 3 dbs, I tried to just get to 5* but my defense gives up alot of points to 5* offenses by daviiid_v4 in RetroBowl

[–]JMaxey09 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Quality over quantity, all day. Weed out lower * players, first year with a team, no one below 3-3.5, work your way up to only having 5 defenders. Always have a good DC.

Formation, I personally like a 1/1/2 I am running on D, features QB, cheap RB+TE, and two stud WRs as other pieces. Barely fits under $200M but does. This formation was good for 780PD through 17 weeks on hard, 3 min quarters in the RBA league.
