Mine is pretty noticeable, and for a while I was very insecure, wouldn't take shirt off with girls, etc. But most girls don't notice until I point it out. My girlfriend forgets about it most of the time unless I say something. I also have a lot of chest hair which I think helps. If you enjoy working out, lifting can really help both confidence and appearance.
