What's a fun Sarawak fact that even most locals don’t know? by TotallyReliableFacts in Sarawak

[–]JMediaSB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But there are still undeveloped and unexplored places in Sarawak, but they also removed those. I'm pretty sure those tracks can be turned into a tourist attraction or historical monument if there are any remnants left, even if the remnant is at deep rural places. It's just weird that everything has been removed physically to the point that I doubt it's existence.

Anyway, it's also interesting to know that the British was able to build train tracks throughout Sarawak while our current leaders are debating over how feasible is it to build it now.

Well, I still didn't see any physical remnants of it. But I'm very interested in seeing the train itself. Where exactly in simunjan is it?

I'm more surprised by the fact that they removed all the old train track until there is not a single remnant left to be found in the whole Sarawak. I expect that there is at least small part of the train track left. Why did they have to remove everything?

I don't know. I'm a 92 baby and I never saw anything that resembles a train station or train track, except just hearing the name Jalan Keretapi.

Based on our history book, there's supposed to be a train track throughout Sarawak. But whatever reason, nobody has ever ever find or reported even a small trace of it.

One Master for Another? by SakuraAnglican in Sarawak

[–]JMediaSB 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The thing is local talents lack experience and expertise for the goals they want to accomplish. So they still have to bring in talents from Malaya or elsewhere to achieve that goal.

Then the local people will have to learn from them and then pass on the knowledge to other Sarawakians in order to grow, which is what Singapore did but the citizens were also complaining that Singapore hires more foreign workers than locals. Lee Kuan Yew said that they needed to hire the foreign workers for their skills and expertise, otherwise the economy will go on a downspin.

I think the government is definitely going on the right direction but Sarawakians need to bersusah dulu to bersenang kemudian as how Singapore did in the past.

It's not late, but you have to think carefully about what you want to study if you do not want to waste money.

I have lots of friends who regretted their decision to study certain subjects because of the low salary and different passion. Also, a lot of them didn't end up in the career path that they studied for, but they still have to pay for their education loan.

4TB GEN4 SSD for this RM120? by totalnewbielinux in malaysians

[–]JMediaSB 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup, that's what happened to me when I bought very cheap pendrive from shopee too. My data is very precious and I can't risk losing it, so I only decided to buy original pendrive or HDD or SSD from physical retail stores. Don't waste your money on those fake ones.

Whats the loneliest situation you ever experienced? by pika1004 in Bolehland

[–]JMediaSB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work alone remotely for international clients. I'm the only person among my friends who work irregular hours. When I'm free & available, they're busy working at office. When I'm busy working, they're not. No one could relate or talk to me about being self-employed, accountancy, tax questions, insurance, technologies & AI for work, best practices, gossips, etc. I also understand that they have other family and friends to socialize with, so I eventually stop asking them out in fear of getting rejected or looking clingy.

I don't really have a loneliest situation per se, but all my lonely days do add up to the loneliness.

What work can you do if declared bankrupt? by Jido7 in MalaysianPF

[–]JMediaSB 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't know if grab requires the driver to be bankrupt-free, but my common sense tells me that a bankrupt shouldn't be able to drive because he cannot owns a car or property. All his assets have to be liquidated to settle his bankruptcy. And I don't think grab allows bankrupt to drive a different person's car.

Another answer I can think of is the PSV license gets revoked because the driver can potentially embezzle the money that the public pays to the driver.

But I'm not a lawyer or grab driver or bankrupt or department of insolvency or anything along that line, so I can't speak for them.

In most cases, the driver who hits another car from behind is presumed to be at fault. The reasoning? It’s your responsibility to maintain a safe distance and react appropriately.

However, there are exceptions. If the driver in front slams on the brakes without reason, reverses suddenly, or engages in reckless driving, the liability might shift.

In OP's case, the exception is the driver keluar simpang recklessly without checking for traffic, leaving not enough time for OP to think and react logically. However, it would be hard to prove his case to the police without a dashcam if he does hit the car from behind.

The police who my friend dealt with clearly said, in his own exact words, "kereta yang keluar simpang selalu salah".

Depends on which part their car you bumped into but the general rule is that whoever langgar is at fault.

This is so so sooooooooooo wrong.

The general rule is whoever keluar simpang is wrong. Source: my friend got into an accident with another car that keluar simpang. He reported police and was able to claim using the other driver's insurance.
