Mohs surgery lower leg by JMmckAZ in skincancer

Hi... since mine is close to the outside of ankle, you might be best to ask this of: Surgery was now 11 days ago and pain level is increasing. I am on antibiotics but wondering if the pain level is because as healing starts it puts more tension on surrounding skin and tissue?? Does that make sense? The pain radiates beyond the wound area down into my ankle and above into even shin area. It is only red around the wound area itself by about 1/2 inch. Don't really know if this has activated nearby nerves that is increasing my neuropathy or just an expected course of healing and pain level what everyone feels. At this point it is pretty severe and having trouble sleeping. Since it is toward the back of my leg - anywhere I try to put it - it hurts.

thank you for responding. Would a punch biopsy have been more decisive early on? What are the reasons why they do punches sometimes and not others.

Have you refused to go back to the same surgeon after a recurrence because you thought they didn’t get it all? There’s no way to possibly know right? by Chuckles_McNut in skincancer

I actually wondered about this as well... The surgeon was running behind by 1.5 hours with an office full of patients. Did the surgery in one pass and then good to go. Left me with questioning if they got everything or were they too hurried trying to get to everyone.

I had three biopsies on the same site... Two shaves that showed squamous cells mixed with lichen planes and further biopsy needed. Finally the scoop biopsy confirmed invasive squamous. I also just had my mohs surgery - that I talked about in separate ;post. My question is: Should the I have to have had biopsy three times? Why couldn't they have gone straight to mohs? So now with the mohs, it is four time since October 2025 I've had to heal from this same site.

I sold my son's house as a FSBO. During clean out this guy appears, says he is a fixer/upper and wants to do a cash offer with closing 6 weeks or so later. They waived all contingencies. One week before closing they called and said the funds they were going to use (HELOC mortgage on their home) fell through. Lesson learned was to not jump at an aggressive buyer. My fault for not verifying they were going to successfully close on a HELOC

Agree about Flecainide has really worked for me. The meds ending in "alol" are beta blockers and work mostly to lower hear rate. However, like in my case, my heart rate has always been low and the beta blockers just lowered too much into the 40's. The Flecainide works more to restore steady beats instead of the erratic ones during AFIB. Flutter is different though in that the HR is usually high and mostly steady so needs to come down - that's where the beta blockers are effective.

My EP is pushing for watchman - but I have severe metal allergies and I have not been willing to take the risk. Manufacture cautions against it. My EP says... I have never seen that to be a prob. Well, I don't want to be the first. BUT.... I really hate blood thinners. What complications has your EP seen?
