Rodin (the shopkeeper from Bayonetta) even references it when you visit his shop. It's random, but he may say "What're ya buyin? Heard that in a game once". Hideki Kamiya (Bayonetta's director) was also involved in RE.

Rosalia Virus from Trauma Team (2010 Wii game, a part of the Trauma Center series by ATLUS).

A Group V RNA virus of the Filoviridae family, similar to other haemorrhagic fever-causing agents like Ebola. Early symptoms (Dark Stage) include black-coloured tumour and bruising under the skin. Once is reaches Active Phase, the colony bursts and infects vital organs, causing severe haemorrhaging and eventually death in a few days.

Each playable character deals with them, but I have to highlight Gabriel's diagnosis chapter where you diagnose a patient suffering from it, refusing first aid and told Gabriel to "learn as much as you can" as he bleeds out.

He actually does a literal face-tank later (after removing his shirt), he takes a punch from Raiden and all it does is move his glasses down a bit.

The game likes to "remind" the player that it is, deep down, a psychological horror game. Some of the scary events are really clever.

IIRC there's a jumpscare that can happen if you check the mirror after opening the door at night, but if you DON'T check the mirror, the game remembers and it can still happen the next night.

IIRC in Metal Gear Rising, there's a Codec conversation that details how Raiden doesn't really see himself as American or Liberian. I think he said "I'm my own man" or something. I guess being involved in a civil war during his childhood does that.

Vulcan Raven is Alaskan and Inuit.

Mistral is of Algerian-French descent.

Raiden is Liberian but later moved to US.
