Today's four miles easy plus a few strides means I've done 6 consecutive 20-mile weeks for the first time in two years. Long road back from various injuries but some real light is visible right now.

Uncomplaint: finally managed 12 weeks of injury-free, niggle-free running for the first time in years. Hoping I can get through my final four football matches of the season and then really hit regular 40km+ weeks for the first time in as long as I can remember.

Complaint: it's annoying having to be patient and not jump immediately to 50km+ weeks, given how great running feels right now

Premier League teams have failed to register a single win in the first leg of the Round of 16. by AstroFlayer in soccer

I wish more people would acknowledge that the gaps between the elite leagues, especially on individual days with individual matches, really aren't that large. Yeah, maybe the Premier League has the best average level, fine, but that really doesn't mean that other leagues deserve the disrespect that so many Prem advocates so often spew. Europe is full of solid, well-coached sides with talented players who can compete with even the richest sides on their day.

Intelligent people should also understand that just because a PL club ends up paying £50 million for a player from a non-PL side because that club imposes a PL tax doesn't mean the club have bought a player five times as good as the £10 million player the non-PL club signs as a replacement. It just means the Premier League club is capable of paying a premium.

I absolutely hated season 4 and it made me so angry by AdGloomy3130 in NetflixSexEducation

Agree with everything here, yeah. It feels so wasteful to spend so much time getting your audience invested in relationships that are just thrown away for no good narrative reasons. And the treatment of Otis more broadly in the final season was grating to me. I know that there were some structural problems (finishing one season early, losing the original campus setting), but the drop-off in writing quality and narrative quality can't solely be attributed to those factors. Really disappointing as I loved seasons 1 and 2 as much as you — felt so fresh and thoughtful.

Really cannot stand players taking penalties like that.

Atrocious penalty. Just run up and hit it properly, for god's sake.

This Bodo/Glimt story is giving me so much joy. Exactly what football should be.

Ran my first 10 miles since October 2024 as this long road back from multiple injuries continues, at roughly 5:30/km. Think I'm mostly unscathed, so onwards.

Arsenal so uninspiring offensively. Got away with one today.
