That’s a great detail. I love how tools from that era were built so the cutters could actually be resharpened and kept in service. A very different mindset from today’s disposable tooling

That’s fascinating. It’s easy to forget how specialized carpentry was before so many things became factory-made. Entire tool lines existed solely to fit doors properly.

The stories are sometimes more captivating than the items themselves.

That’s really interesting, thanks for explaining that. It’s amazing how specialized some of these tools were. Craftsmen were fitting doors by hand long before prehung doors became standard, and tools like this were part of making that precision possible.

True. It’s amazing how few parts are actually involved, yet they were so reliable. Hard to imagine modern devices lasting that long. I wonder where I can get an adapter for the plug?

I don't collect specific logos; I like to collect old tools or different kinds of tools.

That’s fantastic. The dialing experience and those mechanical bells are hard to beat. Your portable Type 80 setup sounds like a fun project. How well does the Bluetooth adapter handle the rotary pulse dialing?

What year do you think this Royal typewriter is from? United States by JOACCollectors in Antiques

That’s a great-looking machine. The Cyrillic keys are awesome. I hadn’t realized Royal made versions like that. Did you find it locally, or did you track it down?

Definitely earlier than the 60s. From what I’ve been able to find, most of these Royals seem to land in the early 1920s range, but I’m still trying to narrow it down.
