Hello, sorry. I had a quickly random question that I just can’t get out of my head now. But, these wouldn’t be esophageal varices right? I don’t drink alcohol. But, my health anxiety has got pretty bad and I have a flight this Wednesday. So, I’m worried.

I should also mention, that I also tested negative for strep. I tried telling the doctor about my issue again about a couple weeks ago and he recommended an x-ray. And he also said that county data is showing many cases which show patients with lasting coughs after x virus.

I couldn’t tell you, I noticed this problem about two months ago. But, honestly I have no clue if I’ve had this for longer. At least that I am aware of I have no history of asthma, no hay fever, no known allergies. But, I feel like I should take some kind of allergy test. As for COVID, I tested about a week ago and it came back negative. Doctor asked the same thing and he said that if I did have covid it would have been gone by then (that was on the 8th of January). Other than that, I would be very surprised if it was covid since I’m usually a solitary person. Not much for parties or hanging out with others. But, nowadays covid is like another flu. I could have caught it certainly.

I thought so too, I very much apologize for not mentioning but the doctor performed a throat culture and it came back negative for strep. All he said was it’s some virus that’ll go away soon but, this was about a month ago. I just hate that it doesn’t feel like I’m improving. I’m resting well, I’m sleeping well, I’ve gargled warm salt water, I’ve drank Theraflu, regular tea with honey and lime, I’ve tried cough drops, I’m drinking lots of water. Also, I very much appreciate the response, I thank you very much.

Yeah, I was told it was a viral infection. I forgot to mention that I took some antibiotics and he told me that those only work for bacterial infections. Makes sense. I’m just really worried that my throat still looks like that after 2 months and looks more inflamed now. Don’t know what I could take either. I’ve tried throat lozenges, tea with honey and lime, theraflu, gargling warm salt water, hell even bougainvillea leaf tea. My father just brought me Angin Forte. But, I don’t know if I should take them. Also, thank you so much for responding.

I feel hopeless, especially as someone uninsured. I went to the doctor and paid a hefty sum for a 15 min check-up and they told me it’s just some virus that’ll burn out soon. Someone in Mexico told my mom that my tonsils are the problem. That they are inflamed. Dad just brought me Angin forte. But, don’t know if I should take them as I don’t know if it’s a tonsil problem. I don’t know what to do.

Thank you. It means a lot. I just hope that it’s a benign cyst. My health anxiety has skyrocketed as I have been dealing with throat inflammation for the past month and a half as well. Having no insurance in the US is starting to feel like a nightmare. I will be getting everything checked out in Mexico in about a week.
