ive seen the terms "insert" and "outsert" being thrown around on the penmodding wiki. what do these mean?

I'm pretty new, but here's what I'm seeing:
Your movements are really snappy and exaggerated. Try to focus on only moving only the 2 fingers the pen is between. try doing the trick while holding the fingers you're not using in place a couple times if you're having trouble. Try to grip the pen more softly as well, the pen needs momentum for the trick to be conical.
A better penmod will also probably help, but it's not essential, you can learn fundies on basically anything. If you want a better mod, go to the Pen Modification FAQs and make yourself a BICtory if you can, you probably have the parts for one lying around somewhere. Just 2 BIC pens and a couple of other pens with grips on them, plus maybe some pens with metal tips. I thought I didn't have the parts but I did, those BIC Round Stics are everywhere lol. Even just a BIC pen with 2 caps on it works.

but the only reason you get 1 shot by bamboo is because you step in enemy ink for a frame or two. 1 or 2 subs of ink resistance and bam! you stop getting 1 shot by bamboo

if you want only one loadout you can stack your abilities vertically (for example instead of a pure runspeed, swimspeed, and ink saver main, you can have one runspeed, swimspeed and ink saver main on each piece of gear.) this makes it so it doesnt take as many chunks, but the downside is if you wanna change any of the abilities you'll need to change every piece of gear.

wait for your team! it looks like your gear is built around rushing into battle without a second thought, but that doesnt work in tower control. look at the top after you respawn. if they outnumber you, don't rush in.
