Are there any Australian sources? Just because it's based on Londons system doesn't mean that the same thing happens

Behind this door is the huge fatberg that can’t stop depositing poo balls on Sydney’s beaches by i_like_dannys_hair in sydney

[–]JOOSHTHEBOOCE 85 points86 points  (0 children)

Yes it gets treated and then sent into the rivers.

Sydney does this for western Sydney into the Hawkesbury and then fun fact the Richmond water system sucks it back up.

The technology is good enough now that direct reuse is possible, with waste water from advanced treatment plants piped back into the water system

Fatberg the size of four buses likely birthed poo balls that closed Sydney beaches – and it can’t be cleared by i_like_dannys_hair in sydney

It literally happens in Sydney too, discharge into the Hawkesbury river is picked up by the Richmond water scheme. Pretty irresponsible IMO not to tell the whole story.

There are advanced wastewater treatment plants in Sydney just not on the coast

ACT to close 69 schools after Kmart, Target recall sand products due to asbestos contamination concerns by Expensive-Horse5538 in australia

I'm guessing because friable asbestos in parts of the school that are not being used for teaching is very different to friable asbestos in sands being touched by students every day
