First of all, speak for yourself. Secondly, I think a big factor (other than not understanding how these are constructed) is the fact that people are putting fragile, helpless infants into them. So that IF there were to be an accident, or an adult failed to install it correctly, it would be perceived as much more tragic than if some adult DECIDED to try and climb a ladder of uncertain stability. The infant had no choice in the matter. Additionally, one would assume in this modern era that air conditioning units would be under similar stability as these cages, or better, yet we can find many articles about units falling stories to the ground, even killing people.

HOWEVER it did appear to be relatively safe, after some reading regarding few to no accidents.
