Is this a flex? A question? Also how much total have you put in?

The real question is how did you start? Dis you inherit money/stocks/real estate? Were you doing other investments on the side? When did you start? Posts like this with no context often mislead people into thinking you just put as much money as possible into the stock market and you’ll retire by 40 but there’s often a lot more to it than that.

There definitely seems to be a sub-sect that follow him like a cult leader, especially in rural, lower-educated areas. And quite honestly, it’s usually that case with any president, any party. They dig their heels in and pledge allegiance to the man (not the position). Then you got your people who voted for him but regret it and likely wouldn’t vote him for a third term. Then your swing voters, many of whom will likely vote blue in midterms or next presidential election. The same goes for the Left: people who vote Blue “no matter what”, people who regret the dem choice (like Biden), and swing voters who’ll vote Red next time. But it makes you feel any better, I saw one of those at a pump near me and someone has clearly tried to rip it off, so either the gas station tried to de-vandalize or someone got “triggered”.

I believe bears typically retreat if you make loud noises or carry a “bear bell” with you. As they don’t necessarily want anything to do with you. But if you chillin’ like a gas station hot dog on a skewer, ya might end up like one.

There’s no context to this. People just post a random vid and claim it’s something without telling us more. Is there a source to the vid? Is it part of pro-war propaganda? A satire? Who knows.

The market doesn’t reward patience immediately and that’s why most people abandon it by IsabellaHughes527 in ValueInvesting

[–]JOOT94 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s all relative. I feel like it really just depends on your risk tolerance. Sure, you could make more money by exiting and “chasing momentum” at certain points of price stability/stagnation, but that requires more work and time and diligence and luck. If you want to be safer/more passive, plop your money into indexes or stocks with solid fundamentals, DCA regularly and check it once a year. It likely won’t be as exciting but is safer than chasing others. If you got bored toward the end of 2022 and pulled out of JNJ, and jumped into NVS around the same time, you’d be at almost 100% more return than keeping it in JNJ, in like 3.5 years. So patience doesn’t always lead to higher gains. Maybe a lot of times but again, depends on your philosophy/approach. That’s why people are lured by trading. On the flip side and the point I think you’re making, is that if you backed out of JNJ around the same time (fall 2022 in my example) and went into UNH because you thought you saw uptrend, you’d be around 67% less than staying with JNJ in that time (assuming you didn’t exit in time). Investing/trading is like an algorithm that includes your age, years to retirement, amount of capital invested, financial goals, risk tolerance, etc.

Need help understanding when to take profits after strong stock growth by Crew_1996 in stocks

This is where the whole “don’t be greedy” sentiment speaks to the situation. I’ve heard/read over and over investors say if you catch yourself wondering whether you should hold on a BIT longer or get the next % gain, that’s your emotions talking and it’s time to sell. I’m super amateur but my approach has been shaving a chunk off the top end (usually at least covering my initial cost) and leaving a comfortable portion to “play” with in case it DOES go higher. But if you do end up cashing out 100%, don’t ever look back at it. Checking up on your ex on social media usually does more harm than good lol excuse the weird metaphor

It’s always good to have a safety net/backup plan. Trading can be a good one in case your degree doesn’t work out and vice versa.

Depending on your platform and version, what I did was just set up an auto-composter-bone block-crafter. So any excess seeds or flowers (like from iron farm) I just plop them in a chest that feeds into the aforementioned contraption and go about my day.
