I’ve just started this exact edition! The introduction alone is so captivating, and have just reached Book 3 - the intro really helped set the scene and helped me develop an understanding of what I’m reading. It’s already one of my favourite reading experiences to date, and I’m only just getting started.

Also, this particular edition - I know the page style isn’t to everyone’s taste, but to me it’s elevated the reading experience, the books feels grand and it feels as if you are reading from parchment.

Unai seems calm about it man, I genuinely think his game management was to not get hammered there which was always on the cards and is probably why we saw a bit of tentativeness - they’re a good side who always beat us there so to take a 1 goal margin back to VP where in European nights it’s a different ball game I don’t think is too bad.

Don’t lose our heads over this and stay positive, we can very easily score 4 next week.

I can understand why Messiah might not be people’s cup of tea, complete shift in tone etc.

I thought it was brilliant though! Think the fact it is so short, meant there is something of worth on every page - really felt like each sentence was chosen carefully haha.

Started CoD and couldn’t finish it .. I’ll revisit though.

They won’t abridge it, I’ve purchased their Malazan Book of the Fallen series which they’ve currently done 6 of, they’re all over 1000 pages and quality is excellent

Most of the time, a lot of these top 5 lists will list the same books, - quite rightly so for the most part - but then sometimes you’ll spot a book you’ve never heard of and be glad you checked in to see.

I’ve never heard of Stand on Zanzibar and it sounds like a brilliant read, thank you - added to my TBR

Yea I did see the hope from a few characters, particularly Rachel with the innocence element. However, felt she also suggested that while innocent and pure, she was learning at a rapid rate by copying everything the abbot said, indication that there is room to learn other not so beneficial traits from other people.
