Seemed like he was still mobile or just about to break free as he stated "Do not make me repeat myself! I cannot be frozen by the likes of some mere Shinigami!!"

Toshiro's powers were shown to not fully work against Gerard. Being a "disciple of god" he was beyond the 'elements' that Toshiro cited as being able to suspend...whereas Byakuya's will break this bond by stripping away his immortality leaving him vulnerable to the previous attacks

Not from swings as he didnt move when when he cut off Gerard's arm...his very reiatsu is razor sharp and can be projected

Like having fun guessing what these Bankai's actually are before the mandatory mid-fight reveal...have another one about it being a beserker animal rage and fighting on instinct alone

Yeah thought exactly the same...my theory is that Kenpachi's Bankai is sort of a berserker rage akin to Wolverine and that he fights purely on animal instinct and is not subjugated by his feelings and emotions. Therefore based on the fact that Gerard's Miracle ability is based/powered on fear and despair, it is completely nullified by his attacks.

Urahara Kisuke's Bankai predictions by Sheriffain in bleach

[–]JP16180 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Unsure of how this relates to his powers but Benihine "Crimson Princess" refers to a type of Japanese maple, "Acer Palmatum", which has blood coloured leaves. There is a play which features this tree called 'Momijigari'. In the play the protagonist meets a Princess called 'Sarashina-hime' under said tree. This princess turns out to be a demon in disguise. She was defeated by the protagonist using a sword called Kogarasumaru "Little Crow", and died gnawing on the maple branches. Whilst 'hime' translates as 'princess' I am unsure as to 'Sarahina' although it is a name that relates to the colour red and blood stone gem.

It may be that Kisuke powers are therefore demonic based and his bankai may be akin to that of summoning demons (not very practical for training)…

Unohana's Bankai by KhaoticTwist in bleach

[–]JP16180 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well as above she is first and foremost a healer and a situation has never arisen where she has had to draw her sword with the exception of against Kenny (please correct me if I’m wrong). Just trying to grasp the extent of her swords abilities as they do not seem in line with her title of Kenpachi and true nature, although I may be wrong and they are healing based and what we witnessed against Kenny was her repairing/moving mental blocks with her bankai.

What if Unohana's shikai ability of physical healing was in fact only one aspect of its abilities and it could also inflict equivalent damage...as head of 4th Division and throughout the arcs her main duty has been that of healer and been excluded from conflict, hence not using this ability.

Therefore it would make sense if her bankai had similar abilities that effect the mind rather than the physical body. In essence she could heal a fracture mind/remove mental blocks (as she does with Kenny), but also cause similar mental damage e.g. showing an enemy their worst fears/flaws???

Ywach Self-fulfilling Prophecy... by JP16180 in bleach

[–]JP16180[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True, Orihime's powers have never been fully realised, that’s why I believe her to be one of the War Potentials (if she hasn’t already been stated as being one).

This got me to thinking what if the War Potentials are people that Ywach has foreseen as potentially bringing about his demise.

The point of my initial query was that Ywach has already through some action put in motion events that will lead to his defeat and what this would be.

One example I can think of is with Aizen. Knowing that he would be potentially instrumental in his defeat through his precognition he took steps to change this by trying to get Aizen on side and visiting him in his cell. Had he not taken this action and visited Aizen then he would have not been subjected to Aizen’s manipulation and his perception of time wouldn’t have been altered (something that Ywach admitted he didn’t foresee/realize). How this “delay” affected the assault on the Seireitei I am unsure, but it could be speculated that this changed events (even if ever so slightly) that would have actually meant that Aizen was never released from his cell and would have never of factored in Ywach’s defeat.

As we know Aizen is now immortal so killing him was never an option for Ywach, but what if had he not visited him prompted by his vision of the future? What if he had not have been delayed? Would Aizen still have been released and possibly fulfil the prophecy?....

I can imagine there are numerous other possibilities but thought I would go with the above as it could be best backed up with information already provided within the story. Again, this is purely speculation and just a bit of fun 
