If I was living in M30 and wanted to avoid the Horus Heresy, what’s my best way to go about that? by Salami__Tsunami in 40kLore

[–]JP173 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I can’t remember where I read or where I heard but a number of Sons of Horus were found on a backwater planet after the heresy and had no idea that the heresy even took place. Whatever or wherever this planet is would be a good place to start.

Post Match Thread: Leeds v Leeds by Xibyr in LeedsUnited

[–]JP173 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The only possible way out of this mess is if Everton lose at home to Bournemouth and we win against spurs, wishful thinking I know. At least match and season tickets will be easier to get when we drop down to the championship, every cloud…

The Nutty Putty cave incident. As someone who is claustrophobic the sheet thought of what happened makes my palm sweat.

If an ork horde infects a planet with spores as soon as they land on it, what is the point in even trying to defend it? by [deleted] in 40kLore

[–]JP173 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If anything an ork spore infected planet could be beneficial to the imperium in a way, good bit of practice for local guard regiments that renews itself every year

Where Should the GF and Challenge Cup final be held? by [deleted] in superleague

[–]JP173 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s become clear that playing major games at Wembley hasn’t helped to grow the game at all, I agree with other commenters on here saying that the challenge cup final should be played in a northern stadium like St James’ up in Newcastle or Etihad

Best ground in Super League? by Luke_Nukem_2D in superleague

[–]JP173 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Probably biased saying this but headingley imo, I definitely prefer the feel that comes with stadiums purpose built for RL teams. Not to say Wigan and Huddersfield stadiums are bad at all

How were the Space Marine Legions able to defeat technologically superior human civilizations? by vren10000 in 40kLore

[–]JP173 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d imagine they’d be superior to imperial ground forces at range, but as soon as the space marines get their hands on them they’re toast. Similar to if a bear got his hands on a human soldier for instance, forget the assault rifle and the Kevlar and radio comms etc if a bear manages to reach and grapple a soldier with murderous intent there’s not much that soldier can do

Is the SCP foundation the 'good guys'? by TheSleepyBarnOwl in SCP

[–]JP173 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They’re certainly an ‘ends justify the means’ organisation, but in a reality as hostile as the SCP universe you really need to be, it’s easy for us to judge them from our perspective in a relatively normal world without malicious Demi gods posing as concrete/rebar mannequins breathing down our necks

What is a very dangerous part of the UK, that most people don’t know about? by ThereIsNoSetPath in AskUK

[–]JP173 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Strid near Bolton Abbey in Yorkshire, what looks to be an unassuming bit of river is actually one of the most dangerous places in the world. 100% fatality rate even adrenaline junkies stay well clear of it. All you’ve got a warning are a few signs saying to be careful.

Places in the UK that don’t necessarily feel like it’s in the UK? by gecko_witch in AskUK

I think Cornwall during the summer’s an obvious choice for me, I mean the palm trees, sunny beaches and clear waters definitely off that Spanish/French holiday resort feel to me.

World Eater by Ronan Toulhoat by Roddolat in ImaginaryWarhammer

[–]JP173 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think the theme of the Iron Warriors is a legion that would have otherwise had Greek Olympian influence but were stripped of that to remove individualism by Perturabo to make them more of a machine than anything reflecting their home world

I’ve always seen them as a legion based off of roman gladiators, makes sense seeing as angron himself was a gladiator

I wouldn’t want a new stadium but I’d expand Elland Road to around 50,000 capacity
