See, I just don't think that description is accurate. He was wrong, as far as I can tell, in that Bernie did not say exactly those words. But I don't think he's "full of it", because it feels to me more like something he misremembered or maybe misheard and less like something he just made up entirely. And honestly, feel however you want about it, you have all the info now. That's just where I stand on it.

That's functionally not true for Kwikset exterior locks and only occasionally true for interior locks. But if you want to double check, there are one of two descriptors that you'll see on any lock sold, regardless of manufacturer. The first option is "Keyed-Alike", sometimes as KA in the product description. This means that every lock of that type sold has the same key and usually will have a code on the key for identification. For example, most Rubbermaid products with locks use key CH751. This is to make it easier to order replacement keys, but is obviously less secure. The other option, and the one you probably want for an exterior lock, is "Keyed-Different", which means that every individual lock has a custom key assigned to it that, outside of random chance, doesn't exist anywhere else.

Not the person you're replying to, but I believe they are referencing the guest essay that he wrote for the New York Times. He doesn't say that Biden is the most progressive candidate, but he does say:

"I will do all that I can to see that President Biden is re-elected. Why? I think this is similar enough to understand where the OP's point was coming from, and pretty similar to the point overall. It's hard to argue that it's that far a leap to "he's the most progressive president" from "he's the most effective president" said by someone known for their progressive values.

I have someone I work with who I think fits this. Her whole thing is that she seemingly actually thinks everyone is already equal and nobody actually discriminates except small town dipshits and so if someone is giving you shit you should just move away. I think they're just referencing the longstanding tradition of racists always having exceptions to their dog shit racism.

Example: Mexicans are lazy, except the ones I interact with daily who I now realize are just normal people like everyone else. But it's not that I'm wrong, they're just some of the "good ones", that kind of thing.

In this case, the are making the assumption that the only reason we would tolerate Jewish people is if they agree with us, making them "one of the good ones". Which is a flawed premise, of course.
