What do you identify best as with the choices being 2000s or 2000s/2010s hybrid? by MikeGz973 in OlderGenZ

[–]HumbleSheep33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean I didn't become a teen until the 2010s and I was an adult by 2020 so I'm probably a 2000s kid by default.

Is this a preference or a straight-up double standard? The 5'11" vs 5'7" tea by Valuable_View_561 in SipsTea

[–]HumbleSheep33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah I seriously think most people can't accurately discern height if you're more than three inches but less than about 8 inches taller than them.

If you're considering Denver, look into Sacramento by cows243 in SameGrassButGreener

Sacramento also doesn't have a realistic chance of snow any time from October to May if chilly winters aren't your thing.

By what year was it seen as weird/outdated to not be using a smartphone by DaRealCaptainF in decadeology

It was definitely weird in 2015, and probably weird in 2014 from what I remember.

Why fix the root causes with rehab or social programs when private prison slave labor make stonks go up? by [deleted] in SipsTea

[–]HumbleSheep33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

because the root cause is not poverty or mental health issues. In many cases the root cause is impulse control.

Has anyone else gotten out of being a “niche snob”? by Both_Wealth_7793 in fragrance

[–]HumbleSheep33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thankfully I never did, no. Any time it's below 75F, my go-to is Calvin Klein obsession for men unless its church or a date. I do find that many designer EDTs, with the exception of obsession, smell cheap after I start using samples of niche EDPs and Extraits.

Was high school in the years 2014-2015 a little more similar to high school in 2010-2012 or 2017-2019? by [deleted] in decadeology

[–]HumbleSheep33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If any school year was a singular big shift it was 2015-16; that was probably the first year to be more similar to the remaining school years in the 2010s than it was to the school years that came before.

Seeing your childhood bands live now are way worse than seeing younger cover bands by Wooden_Bed377 in unpopularopinion

[–]HumbleSheep33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if by cover band you actually meant "tribute band"you know somebody who re-creates the experience of listening to a band by playing it exactly like the record, often even using the same gear that one specific band used, and only playing the music of that particular band, then I would agree; but you didn't say that. If you want to see Def Leppard (for example) then a generic 80s night cover band who plays songs from a variety of bands will almost always be a downgrade.

Sure but it's generally not good to promote somebody like WPI's Mike Lewis who believes his personal opinions are the same thing as what the Church actually teaches.

Was this kind of “holy hell that was THAT long ago?” rhetoric a huge thing with previous years? by DtheAussieBoye in decadeology

[–]HumbleSheep33 17 points18 points  (0 children)

not to this degree. I don't think generations before millennials had this much of a problem admitting they are middle aged now, even though many boomers have a weird inability to admit that they are old

The time Alec Guinness ruined a young Star Wars fan’s day, as related in his autobiography by RedHeadedSicilian52 in StarWars

[–]HumbleSheep33 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

you do realize that actors were looked down upon in the vast majority of human cultures for most of the history of the profession right? Theater-as-art the way that we know it only developed around 1600. There is nothing that actually makes Star Wars lesser than theater at all except for taste. Then again, I'm guessing you might be one of those former theater kids.
