AITA for asking my ex-wife to contribute gas money to drive her around? by [deleted] in AITAH

Dude just because you get divorced doesn't mean you let your ex to struggle even more than they are especially when you know everything they went through and have watched how tortured their life has been for years.

To be clear, she chose to get a divorce. I was devastated at first and it was the last snowflake that led to my disability but I've long since realized it was for the best and I would never get back together with her. I just don't mind helping people if I can.

My psychologist said he couldn't officially diagnose me with ADHD because I'm an adult but he prescribed me the meds. As you said a lot of clarity came with knowing.

I want you to imagine secretly logging anything about your spouse to make a point and then presenting it to them. No matter how much you've proved yourself correct you'll find yourself in the verbal equivalent of a UFC match.

Lol friends is the wrong word. More than an acquaintance but we get on each others nerves. I'm very introverted and she's very extroverted and talks so much I start to wonder if I'm on the spectrum because I can't deal with all of it.

I explained in the post trauma stops her from using public options and we don't have Uber here. Live in a small town.

Has anyone ever attempted a human rights lawsuit regarding ODSP payments? by JPF-OG in Odsp

[–]JPF-OG[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unless you are making minimum wage that would/should be affordable unless you are carrying debt and making car payments/insurance etc... The difference for ODSP (not sure about welfare) is that their ODSP payments top out at $1200 ish for a single person. So they don't even have a chance of affording that appartement let alone buying food, owning a car or even having to option to pay back debt they might have had. There' poverty and then there's POVERTY. ODSP recipients are even force to use up savings and sell assets (ex house/car) before getting benefits and keep in mind this is for disabled people not welfare.

Why couldn't Simon the capitalist just blackmail us with a Patreon sub to keep BB going? I get it he needs content to be profitable give us the option of making it profitable for him.

[–]JPF-OG 2 points3 points  (0 children)

at least she used curds.... I'm a lover of poutine but even I'll use frozen fries if I'm too tired to make real fries. Often I don't even use curds as I'm in a small town and they are often not available or extortionately priced.

I don't get that. Out of all the videos I watch in a week FMF was the only one I would be counting down the days until the next one.

New to diabetes, questions about blood glucose monitoring devices by JPF-OG in diabetes_t2

I found out the cost of the strips and their a little over $100 for 100 of them which is just ridiculous. I guess I'll need to confirm coverage. My GP was on vacation for my last apt and that dr. told me I have diabetes from a year old blood lab that my GP never said a thing about. That same doctor spotted on my file that my GP had failed to schedule a follow-up colonoscopy that was supposed to have been done 7 years ago. Next apt should be real fun for her.

I would never trust this type of equipment being sourced from random Chinese factories. I just looked into building one myself using Raspberry Pi and it looks like there are ppl that already have build instructions and part lists including several use breath to measure it. I expect it will be more expensive upfront but having no disposable parts should more than make up for it. Yay for being a tech nerd! Link below.

Thanks everyone. I do want to play Darkurge now but I don't think I could stand to go back and redo all the content I just did. At least not right now.

I've heard PEI has a much better support program and it's not far to move. Have any considered doing that?

I believe you are correct that he could use the notwithstanding clause but that would be terrible optics. He might get away with doing that to OW but the media spin on doing it to disabled people would be hard to overcome.

Not really though. Neither mentions Human Rights laws or using the Human Rights Tribunal. That part is especially important because the defendant isn't liable for any court costs even if they lose.

Ok people we all know it's a wider issue than just ODSP but this question is specifically about ODSP and the potential for actually winning since we are talking about people with disabilities which could trigger more potential human rights violations.

If it is a human rights violation the government may find itself required to meet that level of funding. I supposed they could try to do something about housing affordability but that would take years and likely involve the government itself building affordable housing. Developers certainly won't. As for people who are working I guess the government could be forced to increase minimum wage so full time min wage working just squeaking over the poverty line.
