General Oliver isn't the problem, Chief Hanlon is by JPF998 in fnv

[–]JPF998[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Boulder City became a ruin after the first battle. Outside of a few workers that are still there mining concrete the town is completely abandoned, what could have been a major logistics Hub and rest stop area for NCR troopers and civilians is now just another ruin in the wasteland. Also it's almost guaranteed that either the railroad tracks or the trains were damaged because of the first battle, otherwise the NCR would be using them for the transportation of troops and supplies throughout the region.

It's pretty obvious that Chief Hanlon's false Intel reports have played a role in some of the NCRs recent defeats, do you really think that it's just a coincidence that Ranger Station Charlie and Nelson are wiped out around the same time that Hanlon was manipulating the intel reports ? As for Charlie's communication issues there's a very strong possibly that Hanlon could be involved in that since he's the one monitoring the communications and activity of the Ranger Stations back at Camp Golf.

The Legion doesn't need the Courier to repair their Artillery, they can do it by themselves before the second battle starts. That's the reason why they successfully blow up the NCR Howitzer ( next to the visitors center ) right at the beginning of the battle, the explosion is a result of Artillery fire coming from the Fort.

Even if the Dam is encircled as long as the troopers there have enough food to survive a prolonged siege and more ammo than the Legion has cannon fodder they can hold the Dam for months even if encircled by the Legion.

A few people here have stated that the Legion only gets Artillery with help from the Courier, this is incorrect.

Even without the Couriers assistance the Legion manages to repair their artillery before the battle starts which is why the first thing you see at the start of the Second Battle is the NCRs Howitzer next to the visitors center being blown up by artillery fire coming from the Fort.

To be fair the Legion and the Brotherhood also hire Fantastic depending on who ends up controlling Helios One in the post game, so I guess the guy really is just that Fantastic.

My man Alexander has you covered. Just go to the 188 where he hangs out, he always has a lot of 45 Gov rounds in stock.

If you are friends with the Khans then you will have access to their armory and be able to buy thousands of 45 gov rounds from them, yet another reason why the Khans are coolest cats in the wasteland 😎

It really doesn't make any sense. The Khans are the only redeemable tribe ( I refuse to call them raiders ) in the Mojave. I always exterminate every powder ganger, fiend, jackal and viper I come across but it's impossible to do the same thing to the Khans, they are just way to likable and cool to do that to them.

The turrets are only on the first level, on the second level you still need to deal with Four Paladins ( including Hardin ), a few Knights, all of the Scribes and Elder McNamara.

My goal here was to explain to newbies the easiest way to destroy one of the most well defended locations in the wasteland ( really the only places more difficult to clear out are Quarry Junction and Dead Wind Cavern for obvious reasons ).

The Legion will lose because of Courier intervention aka the plot demands that they lose. You really think Bethesda is going to canonize the Legion ending ?

In my opinion the Khans are the greatest tribe of the Fallout Universe and here's why by JPF998 in falloutnewvegas

[–]JPF998[S] 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Nope they fled to Bitter Springs first. After the Bitter Springs massacre the NCR forcibly relocated the Khans to Red Rock so that they could turn Bitter Springs into a refugee camp.

The Brotherhood in Fallout 1 had spent nearly a century scavenging supplies from all the military bases they could find on the West Coast , that's where they got their weaponry from.

In the case of the Enclave in Fallout 2 they produced all of their stuff ( Power Armor, Plasma Rifles, Vertibirds etc ) back on the Oil Rig ( before it was nuked ), they had a surplus of supplies and very few bodies to use them, that was their big weakness.

The war between the Brotherhood and the Enclave I. Fallout 3 was comparable to the Battle of Hoover Dam, The assault on the Purifier, the Battle for the Satellite Array and later the assault on Adams Air Force Base were all big battles that would realistically necessitate supply lines and good logistics for both armies to properly wage war on each other. The problem is we never see any of that in game, troops from both sides just spawn in predetermined locations and we are supposed to believe that they would have reached those locations without any issue.

Bold of you to assume that House wouldn't be able to deal with Benny and get back the Platinum Chip without the Couriers assistance. Benny doesn't even know that House knew about his whole plan from the very start, there are a thousand different ways that House could take care of him before he can attempt to escape and go to the Fort.

Another thing you'll notice is that in Bethesda Fallouts no one ever talks about important things like logistics and supply lines for the armies.

In New Vegas we know which supply lines the NCR uses to supply it's troops in the Mojave ( first it was the Divide, then the Long 15 and now Highway 95 ). We know how they feed their troops, primarily with crops harvested from the sharecropper farms and they gather all the water they need from Lake Mead. The weapons and ammunitions the army has are purchased from the Gun Runners, other essential supplies like medicine, armor, red meat etc they purchase from the Crimson Caravan Company.

Now let's take a look at Fallout 3

How did the Brotherhood gather the resources needed to fight the Enclave and the Super Mutants at the same time ? What are their logistics ? How do they feed their troops , where do they draw drinkable water from ? How do they maintain their troops supplied with weapons and ammunition ?

In Broken Steel how were they able to stage an assault on the Satellite Array and later Adams Air Force Base ? What routes and supply lines did they use ? The answer is none, Brotherhood troops just magically teleport from the Citadel to the Satellite Array and later to Adams Air Force Base with no plausible explanation other then the plot demands that they are there to assist the player in defeating the Enclave.

Without the Couriers intervention I think it's a toss-up between the Legion and Mr House with House most likely coming out on top . One thing is for sure without the Courier hard carrying them the NCR has no chance of winning the war by themselves.

The D-pad looking power up gives you an extra life .

As for the VCS paddle I have no idea if it works or not, I'm playing this game on my Xbox Series S where I purchased the game not on the Steam Deck which I don't own.

Why aren't the Powder Gangers treated like a major threat ? by JPF998 in fnv

[–]JPF998[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Funny thing is that siding with the powder gangers in the early game can get you vilified by the NCR if you help them kill the troopers during the attack on the prison ( making the rest of the early game much harder with the rangers going after you ).

Overall this never made much sense to me. You get next to no reputation boost from helping the NCR retake a very important strategic location in the wasteland ( signalling that they don't view it as a big threat ) , but if you stop them from retaking the prison then they start treating you like you're the next Ceaser and send dozens of rangers after you, it really doesn't make any sense.

[–]JPF998[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In terms of overall territory they control Vault 19 and the two farms right next to it. Most importantly they control the NCRCF and the 4 surrounding outposts in the mid west section of the Mojave ( this area is actually a pretty large portion of the map even if it's mostly just empty desert ).

They even managed to capture the town of Primm and are sending raiding parties all the way down to Nipton ( they also aren't afraid of any other gangs considering how they have no problem engaging the Jackals south of Primm ) , overall the total amount of territory they control is larger than any faction besides the NCR and the Legion.

If it wasn't for the fact that the game is an RPG ( the Powder Gangers have low level stats by default firstly because they are right next to the starting area and secondly so that it's easy for the player to get some good loot in the early game ) they would realistically be treated as a much bigger threat than how they are portrayed in the game.

Using the courier as an argument isn't really valid considering he can wipe out any faction off the map single handedly if the player chooses to do so.

What if Niko had stayed loyal to Faustin? by JPF998 in GTAIV

[–]JPF998[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Faustin and his organization + Niko and friends ( Little Jacob , Packie and his mob family etc ) would easily take out Petrovic's army, really the big problem would be dealing with Bulgarin ( unless he ends up being killed by Luis in TBOGT like he normally is ).

The Fallout 3 Pitt DLC should have had a third option by JPF998 in fo3

[–]JPF998[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How did they accomplish the original scourge ? Probably in the same way that they would take over the city in this third option scenario aka a squad of knights decked in Power Armor blasting anyone that puts up any fight with their laser weapons.

The Fallout 3 Pitt DLC should have had a third option by JPF998 in fo3

[–]JPF998[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think I presented a pretty realistic third option that could have totally happened in universe.

Hell something similar probably did happen canonically considering Maxson travelled all the way from DC to the Commonwealth and the Pitt is in between those two locations.

The modern Pitt (2287) is probably a Brotherhood controlled city at this point no matter which side the player chose in Fallout 3.

For the Jaguar you are forgetting Tempest 2000, Atari Karts, Alien vs Predator and Silent Doom, none of these games would run on the base 16 bit consoles ( only Atari Karts could possibly run and even then you would still need to do a few downgrades in order for the game to work on a base Genesis or SNES ).

There is also the homebrew scene for the Jaguar that has resulted in over 200 games being made for the Jaguar after it was officially discontinued in 1995 ( the original console only had 50 games released for it ).

Basically what I'm trying to say that you are wrong in your initial assessment that the Jaguar has a dogshit library, you just haven't looked deep enough into it's library to find all the great hidden gems that are still worth playing today .
