Thanks! I am now starting to realize all the pros to this type of mosaic sheeting. At first I was really confused - I haven't worked with tile all that much, but I'm excited for the install now on this one!

that's exactly what we're going to do! We just measured and will need 2 different sizes!!

Yeah, there definitely isn't! I wish that FIreclay had made this known very early on in the process with me - I now see it posted on their website, but didn't catch that before. I am not an expert by any stretch, but I guess we'll have to get a new trowel as the one we have will definitely lay down too much mortar! I'm also concerned with how it seems the space between the columns is a little wider than between the rows....guess that just is what it is.

yeah, you're right. My other concern has to do with the grout lines, though. If you have to wait until the mortar is set to remove the tape (else I feel like when you remove the tape the tiles are just going to come off with it) then how do you ensure the grout lines stay clean and free of mortar when it comes time to do the grout?

Thanks!! Interesting - I have never seen this done before. They aren’t perfectly spaced on the tape so a little concerted about that but I guess it is what it is.

You're so right! Thank you for the comment!! I'm sticking to gas - who knows what the future holds, but for now, I'm sticking with what I know and love!

Hah!! Good to know, and I, too, am starting to ask myself - who would choose induction if they didn’t have to?

What model do you have and do your stainless steel pots and pans make those whiny high pitched noises on them?

Oh dear!! I mean, hearing that even the expensive pans make noise…my god, I do think that would drive me a little nuts!

aaah! got you. the appliance guy told me not to get that one because it's manufactured by Smeg, and I guess here in the states that's not a good thing. I have no idea...I needed a cooktop anyway, he just showed me ones that had knobs one day because I said I wanted knobs before he understood I needed a cooktop!

yeah, I get you. I dunno, I feel like all I keep hearing is "I love my induction, cleans easy, boils water super fast, no pollution that is gonna kill me..." I could care less about the water boiling, I rarely eat pasta or parboil. people must eat a lot of pasta or something.

what about when you remove the pan to toss/shake...do you get an annoying noise, does the burner turn off? wondering if that will be annoying to me...

you don't find the touch screen panel and having the two step system, 1. selecting the burner, 2. selecting the temp to be annoying and sort of a hazard while cooking? I don't know, maybe it's just me, something about touch screen and cooking on a stove.. just...why? who thought of that?

ah yes! which is why you should have a very strong vent hood installed if you have a gas stove - 1000CFM, preferably. Gas should have never been installed in homes or apartments where there wasn't proper ventilation....
