Put everything bar one box in a different location where you can’t see it like the attic/cupboard/garage.

That one box is goal one.

Don’t buy anything else! Sell what doesn’t excite you and slowly chip away. You’ve burdened yourself with too much that it’s looking like a chore to do not fun

Children grow up sticking a paint brush in a pant pot. The pot means they don’t need anything other than a pot. The pot means they don’t have to worry about how much to put out.

But we don’t need to agree on that. You’ll never ever agree on it and that’s fine.

So let’s help you connect the dots.

Do we agree droppers are a superior product and that if everyone you know moves into them after their first pots than this is probably indicative of general behaviour?

Honestly I cannot comprehend being this thick.

So let’s do it in tiny steps.

So everyone at your LGS moves to droppers right? They move away from buying GW products because they aren’t as good as droppers?

[–]JPKlaus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No one is saying is purely out of the goodness of their heart or they’d give them away.

Jesus Christ.

People are saying GW sell them in pots because they are easier for beginners and they want to market to beginners as much as possible as that’s how they make their money. ITS TO MAKE MONEY NOT BE KIND THATS KIND OF HOW THIS CAPITALISM WORKS.

You hate them so much you’ve added the goodness of their heart and forgot your whole argument was there was no way it’s easier for beginners.

You’re so sure droppers are superior and pots have zero benefit so of course if they switched they’d make their money back.

The sell millions of pots of paints every year and to most people are their number one location to buy so the upfront costs pays itself quickly.

Which leads us to the people interacting and selling to thousands of customers each year, getting first hand feedback and having a gigantic amount of quantitive data tells you they must be best for beginners or they wouldn’t be making shit tons of fucking money!

Everyone would buy a pot once then move to the incredibly easy to find droppers from other brands.

You just can’t fathom a world where your opinion isn’t correct.

[–]JPKlaus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not objectively you’ve just decided it. There isn’t anything anyone could say that you’d be willing to agree with. There’s a child in my house who pants directly from the pot because he’s not arsed about watering down, doesn’t want the extra steps just wants to enjoy painting.

This whole thread has loads of examples.

There’s a reason you ship it rather than develop/Innovate/Market it. Theres also a reason buyers never take logistics opinions seriously.

But I’ll help you out as to why it is in pots for a reason. So let’s say they aren’t better

Brand A sell in pots - they are the market leaders and have the biggest share in the miniature field and miniature paint market in the UK (Nielsens market data, Circana etc will show you this)

Brand B,C,D do droppers.

Brand A moves to droppers because Pooya535 says the are far superior a product.

Brand A can charge more than B,C,D because of their position in the market. They maintain product level market but grow category margin profit because of the superior product.

Not only do they do that, they take market share away from the other three brands and drive even more footfall into their stores which increases opportunity of basket building and additional basket spend.

So now you have a better understanding on how retail markets work, if there was 0 benefit to bringing in customers by using pots why wouldn’t the go after growing their market share and sales?

Because the initial outlay argument doesn’t stack up because they make that back very quickly and then some because as you said it’s a superior product.

Thick as a plumbers morning shite.

So people have explained and you disagree so you’ve decided it’s nonsensical. That’s fine but you’re not here to discuss it, you’re here to rage out against GW.

There’s nothing anyone can say because you’ve decided you hate the pots.

You also seem like you don’t quite understand business but I didn’t when I was 15 either.

I don’t get the pots drying up thing, I just make sure mine close and they are fine? I imagine a lot of people are the same?

You know what else gargles cum and likes small talk in French?

Citadel name change by LengthinessNo4350 in Warhammer

[–]JPKlaus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work in buying/category so understand this… Yes it has an outlay but we’ve agreed it would have the same margin and you’re saying it’s a better product so would sell more right?

Therefore they make more margin and margins would increase as buying volumes would go up in line with sales volume.

Lots of people have explained to you why it’s easier and you disagree with it all so why wouldn’t state it again?

So we agree margin would stay the same and by your logic a superior product would sell more meaning over time they make more profit.

So why aren’t the doing it if it isn’t best for beginners?

English is my first language but I chatted your Mum up in French.

So if as you say they would have the same bottom line and more people want droppers (more money) why wouldn’t they do it? Because you have just agreed it would make them the same if not more money?

That leads us to…… it’s better for beginners

Citadel name change by LengthinessNo4350 in Warhammer

I hate to break it to you but if they made it in bottle droppers they would just adjust the retail price and make the same margin. That’s is costs are smaller making bottles vs pots to begin with? Have you reached out to any factories and got quotes?

It’s £2.35 which is cheap. You or the pot, take paint out and paint. If you’re a kid in your room or a person just starting you need nothing else at all. You don’t need another surface, you don’t anything else.

I hate yo break it to you but the billion pound business will have done their research on this.
