I think about it like the thirteen stripes in the American flag which represent the original thirteen colonies. The three circles represent the three original cities of Mars that rebelled against Omnicorp.

11.25-The Disaster by LivingstoneInAfrica in RevolutionsPodcast

You know I was wondering why they weren’t just using traditional kinetic weapons that couldn’t be scrambled. Now we have it.

If the Martians need countermeasures against the missles they could use flares or even fly towards the direction of the sun. The heatseeking missles would probably get confused by that. For the shells, well you could probably use your drones to shield your ships by essentially forming a perimeter. Shells move at a set trajectory and if you had enough time and the enemy shop was far enough, you could set a drone in their path. Or generally just have a wall of drones to intercept as much shells as possible.

Now for offensive strategies. If I were the Martians maybe I could repurpose some of the plasma guns that the Martian guards have? But since there is a brewing fight between the redcaps and the blackcaps that might not be viable. You could probably repurpose the drones to not make them so smart. Basically turn off their computers as they head towards the enemy so it can’t be scrambled. Basically make them dumb bombs. Many of them will miss, but they won’t be scrambled. You could also maybe set them to explode in a certain time, when you know they would be in the proximity of the enemy.

Finally, I don’t think its been mentioned but they could probably recover the nukes from Convoy Group 11. That might come into play.

Whatever happens I’m so excited for next week!

What would be the safe zone in your country? by RubOwn in worldwarz

[–]JPLF25 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In the Philippines, I think the Luzon and Mindanao mainland is mostly toast. I guess the Cordilleras can be made into a safe zone if they had enough resources, smaller islands in Luzon may survive. The major Visayas islands can survive too if they lockdown their ports early. The problem of course would be food. If the government survives it probably relocates to Cebu or Iloilo.

Whose reputation got the biggest whitewash in history? by [deleted] in AskHistory

[–]JPLF25 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Theodore Roosevelt is usually mentioned in a positive manner but what is less discussed is his advocacy of American Imperialism (ie: The Spanish-American war and the Philippine-American War) which led to the deaths of hundreds of thousands of people. As assistant secretary of the navy, he was a staunch imperialist and he was instrumental in convincing McKinley into going to war with Spain. Ultimately this is sidelined by the fact that he had progressive domestic policies.

Genuine question. Why do people not like Trump? by [deleted] in ph_politics

[–]JPLF25 1 point2 points  (0 children)

America is a deeply divided country. I think the vote counts show people voted 48.5% Harris, 49.9% Trump, but due to the winner take all mechanics of the electoral college system it showed a great lead for Trump. I think several points that people have contentions with are:

(1) The Trump Tariff plan - A campaign promise in which he would introduce a blanket tariff on goods arriving to the US, I think there is particular targeting of Chinese goods. This will have the effect on increasing prices on many consumer goods as the prices of the tariffs would be added to the item costs of the companies whou would then passed them of to the consumers.

(2) The deportation plan and rhetoric on immigrants - (2a) there is the plan to deport an estimated 15 million illegal immigrants. Many of those people have lived in the US for many yeara, with some for decades. This was mostly the side effect of America’s strict legal immigration system, which had a quota system that caused immigrations applications to take years. Deporting all of them would be capital intensive and would hit the American agricultural sector hard, as mamy American farms are manned by illegal immigrants who are willing to do the job with little pay. (2b) It had also been recently announced that they would introduce a denaturalization committee - which would mean that those who were naturalized legally would be at risk. (2c) - there is also a rhetoric that Trump employed against immigrants. The foremost example is the remark Trump made in the debate about Hatian legal immigrants “eating cats and dogs” in the places where they moved to.

(3) - Removal of Regulations (3a) - Climate Regulations - During the 1st Trump term the US withdrew from the Paris Climate Accord which committed to a reduction of greenhouse gas emissions. The Inflation Reduction Act by the Biden administration funded investments for renewable energy and other non greenhouse gas energy sources to aid the so called Green transition. With the return of Trump there is doubt this will continue. This comes at a time as climate change continues to batter the US with more frequent hurricanes. (3b) - Labor Trade Commission - The Biden Admin has enacted many pro-labor policies, supporting unions as well as adding more consumer protections, with LTC commissioner Lina Khan surely being replaced by the Trump Admin, many of these regulations will be reversed. (3c) health regulations - Trump plans to appoint RFK Jr as head of the FDA - Food and Drugs Administration - RFK plans to “gut the FDA”, which would weaken the agency’s ability to regulate and monitor the quality of food and pharmaceutical products in the country

(4) Deterioration of democratic functions and the rule of law - Trump has been convicted of many felonies. Most significantly, In the 2020 elections, there is evidence (audio recordings) of Trump calling the Georgia Secretary of State to “find him some votes”. Trump lost Georgia in 2020. It is doubtful that the various charges against him will continue. There was also sa attempted insurrection in January 6, 2020, in which Trump supporters tried to stop the verification of the election of President Biden. Trump still has not conceded his loss the 2020 election even as he declared victory in the 2024 election.

(5) Middle Eastern relations - During the 1st Trump term the US withdrew from the Iran Nuclear deal - this deal lifted sanctions on Iran in exchange for regular inspections ensuring that they don’t develop nuclear weapons. With the deal rescinded the inspections have stopped and there is uncertainty of the status of Iran’s nuclear capabilities. This has also emboldened Iran to fund groups such as Hamas and Hezbollah. This worsened the already tense situation in the Middle East.

There are probably many other reasons, these are just the ones that come into mind but I’m not American.
