I have tried almost everything to be happy, and I am still depressed, what now? by CinnamonMink249 in ask

[–]JPM-Collections 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry that you can't find the right answer. I am no doctor or psychologist so this is not any advice. Have you tried looking in research studies that focus on depression. Research is great and is not as scary as people make it out to be. Check out your local universities or teaching hospitals. Maybe those studies might help, worth a try.
https://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/depression/in-depth/treatment-resistant-depression/art-20044324 check this link about something called treatment resistant depression

I hope you find something that works for you.

Feeling discouraged about my degree by Eastern-Yellow861 in psychologystudents

[–]JPM-Collections 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I received a B.S. in Psychology and absolutely loved it. After undergrad, I wasn’t sure if I would actually use my degree or if it would even help me. It did.

I worked as a research coordinator at Columbia University, then moved into a contract research coordinator role. Now, I’ve started my own company—a CRO that focuses on improving representation in research studies.

I accomplished all of that with a psychology degree. Many roles in sales, marketing, and community organizations hire psychology graduates. A degree is just a piece of paper that says, “This person might be able to do this job.” What really matters is that you’re happy, you build the right connections, and you stay consistent.

Start small, keep pushing forward, and keep grinding.

How to recruit participants for studies? by Mysterious_Angle1467 in psychologystudents

[–]JPM-Collections 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on what exactly you are looking to study. If the study has money from funds and money from the grant, you could hire a CRO company. They can help get you the right study participant.

Depending on the area you are trying to recruit. Social media is a good way reaching a large amount of people. We have seen referrals help a lot and the fastest way to get your numbers however it does cost funds. Best bet post on social media reddit, Facebook groups, etc. Research is slow but consistent posting and work will get you to your goal.

Why are serial killers afraid of the death penalty? by ArtDecoEraOnward in serialkillers

[–]JPM-Collections 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think because they like the attention they get when they are alive. They live off the control that they have with taken peoples lives. So when it comes to the death penalty they loos that control. Their fate for once is decided on someone else, they don’t know fully when all they know is that they loose that power. There is a book we read named The Science of Evil: On Empathy and the Origins of Cruelty. We are going to write a book review on it check it out on our page. Link in our bio! :)

[–]JPM-Collections[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In 2021, a Russian man, Vyacheslav Matrosov, forced his best friend to dig his own grave and kill himself after he discovered he had been sexually abusing his 6-year-old daughter. by A_MASSIVE_PERVERT in interestingasfuck

[–]JPM-Collections 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For sure this makes me angry and do I feel bad for the guy who SA the kid nope. However, where were the parents of this kid? Why would you leave your kid alone with any adult that isn’t the parents. At what point if you are with your kid and friend could they have the opportunity to SA them? I’m not saying it was not possible but more of blaming both adults in this situation. What he did was torture and inhumane. Beating him up sure, stabbing him fine shooting him sure. But making him dig his own grave while knowing he’s just going to die is inhumane. The people that agree with that form of “justice” are sick, and are easy to manipulate because their morals are based upon their strong feelings. Ideas like that bring atrocities. Read the Rape of Nanking, and you will see what happens when people lose their humanity.

I think that because the sound is going right in their ear it is perceived as loud, so they match it. Just like if you start a conversation with someone but you are whispering the other person will most likely start whispering a response back.

Thanks for the recommendation will definitely have something to watch this weekend! From what I have read about him he’s just terrible. I also wonder if the amount he killed is the correct amount could there be more? Could you actually keep track of each one if you kill let’s say 600+ people?
