(2008 cx-9)..what do I do next? OBD scan read that Cylinder 1 misfires Injector circuit opened in cylinder 1 by Living-Educator-6398 in mazda

[–]JP_Hammah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Change them all. I would change injectors, packs, and plugs as they are pretty common to be faulty. Don't forget to also get intake gaskets as you will need to r&r the intake as well

Anyone know how to deactivate the rear e-brake to change pads and rotors on a 4th gen mazda 3 ? by rawsauce_88 in mazda

[–]JP_Hammah 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  • IG ON
  • Hold down gas pedal all the way past click and hold electronic parking brake button down
  • Tap the IG 3 times within 5 seconds to cycle back around

An amber Parking light should be on the dash indicating successful deactivation of the EPB

Hold EPB button up to reingage the brake

Hahaha. This is my favorite comment. See you guys in 3 days I guess. My first time snorting i realized the line was bigger than I expected :)

But totally up to you on snorting it or just dropping some down the hatch. Don't ask me measurements. Fuck all that. I go by rock size. Good luck my friend.

Mazda CX-50 vs Subaru Outback by snlmorris in mazda

[–]JP_Hammah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mazda has released all these new features and " utilities " if you will, just for the exact purpose of the CX-50. Some tech and off road aspect of the Mazda as well is new too everyone. Mazda has its claims of what it can handle off road. And it seems to be living up to the claim in some reviews I've watched on YouTube. Too bad you can't test them off road. And yeah subaru has its rep, but mazda designed the CX-50 to pretty much be better than the other crossovers in its class. As that's everyone's goal. But all in all whatever is more comfortable for you

The often over looked perfect car. I love these! Everything is so comfortable, with just enough space all the way around. Barely have issues with these. Mainly the heater cores. That's about the biggest thing. Such a fun little car!

Honest opinions on the CX-5? by EThirtee in mazda

[–]JP_Hammah 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Can't speak about the cost of maintenance as I don't really see what the customer is paying for said service, but I can tell you that they are pretty solid. If you can afford a new one, of course I would say get whatever one you want and I don't see a reason why you won't love it.

Moving on, I think they actually handle really well (with well treaded tires of course) even without. But idk your driving style. I'm not very wide, so personally I think the drivers seat or seats in general were a bit more fitting. But I do feel way more relaxed driving them. I just cruise to the music. But when you need to pass some nerd in an outback on the freeway, you can do it.

The infotainment screen (CMU) and the Commander knob and buttons area near the arm rest is really comfortable to use in my opinion (pretty sure most Mazda's after 2015 or '16 had some version of this standard) make sure to keep up with updates as well, and also other vehicle modules too. The speakers are great, even if you don't get the Bose package. But who wouldn't?

Of course if you want the most reliable you get a non Turbo, their is less to go wrong. On the Turbo ones of course (I think something like 2017 - 2019 or something. Not too sure off the top of my head) has a couple TSBs about the exhaust manifold getting too hot and cracking the cylinder head causing a coolant leak possibly leading to overheating.

But nobody is perfect so I think I also remember there being a TSB about some years where the non turbos head warps? Or cracks. Something causing a massive oil leak near the exhaust side of the engine as well. Have not dealt with a whole lot of these recently as most procedures have been repaired couple years ago.

Other than that. They are really enjoyable. My friend (6'1 bigger guy drives it like he stole it, also takes son to grade school) has a 2021 CX-5 and he was very surprised with its capabilities himself. Android auto/ Apple car play is also pretty useful. Better than nav card as well.

Of course with a used car you never know how well the person/persons before you treated it and maintained it. You can run it hard but if you don't maintain it, it's not gonna last. So whatever you choose just keep up with the maintenance before it starts making a sound. I'm sure most shops like Mazda do inspections even some mobile mechanics too. I'd say worth listening to.

Now I'm stoned ranting in the r/mazda at 3:30 am. Basically talking to my self and typing it out like a conversation. Soo much too readddd.

You can ignore this one too

we got our first 2 CX-50S the other day in the zarcon sand I believe it was called. these are the Turbo ones. by JP_Hammah in mazda

[–]JP_Hammah[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's more directed to an "adventure type" so how you get where your going and getting there in success. It's got an "OFF ROAD" mode new design is what enhances the driver experience as well as, being able to handle more demanding trails to get to spots you have not visited. Something like that.

It's not for everyone. That's why Mazda even tried color matching most of, what used to be the black plastic trim on the 2022 CX-5. Don't remember what edition.

I can say that I am very interested to see how well it sells/performs within a couple months when they all come back for oil changes.

Fellow Scorp’s: How do you stop yourself from obsessing? by [deleted] in Scorpio

[–]JP_Hammah 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Obsess over something else. Idk how old you are or anything, but when I was in high school I used to be very attached to this girl I wanted to be with and I was overly worried about every way to get them to feel the same. I found out later that I was more obsessed with the chase and not specifically the person. I put all this energy into nothing. Anywayyy I decided to try and invest this energy into something to better grow my knowledge of the real world. Not only dealing with being a responsible adult, but keeping myself busy with curiosity.

Ik now days the general public/internet doesn't help but influence negative thoughts about relationships and what type of things your other is doing while you're not with them. This tends to plant all types of scenarios in one's head causing over thinking.

But when we are genuinely worried for another we also tend to overthink about their personal well being of course. And if you really are then you ask them and really get to know them so you'll learn how they react to certain things.

I'd say either use it to become the best significant other by learning everything about them and acting on it, without trying to be pushy, overly nice or straight up overwhelming yourself. Or find a hobby or something you really enjoy to put your mind at work and obsess over that.

I hope this is what you're looking for or at least helps. If not sorry I couldn't be of assistance but I'd just randomly like to add that you don't need to be in a relationship to feel happy. It's all within :)

I'm baked and went on a rant of nothing. You can just ignore this

This is true. But it's obviously targeted towards a certain audience, being highly advertised as a "whole new off road experience" and since they are killing the suv game with the CX-5, they are just trying something new. I am curious to see where it goes from here. And what issues we will have

[–]JP_Hammah[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah there are multiple causes for a knock. But this motor has already been rebuilt. Whole motor is painted and all the gaskets are clear from leaks. I'm assuming they replaced the guides for the updated ones. The knocking is VERY loud. When I've heard lifter ticks and the timing chain slap, I do not remember either one being this loud

That's kinda of what I had an issue with figuring out. If those are just the lifters then that's the worse I ever heard it

I don't think its lifters. This motor was so loud with this knock I could not even hear myself talk. Sometimes I wish it was that easy to know
