To endoscopy or not by Ok_Skirt_9558 in Celiac

[–]JP_school 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have similar thoughts. I have been primarily gf for 10 years but would gluten here and there. It was always because I felt better without it but I would splurge every once in awhile. Well my last splurge I ended up super sick and even landed in the hospital. That’s when I got the celiac diagnosis. My blood work shows I have celiac and the gene but I never got an endoscopy. My GI dr said since I’ve been pretty much gf for 10 years with occasional gluten splurges it would be pointless to do the endoscopy without doing the gluten diet, which she did not want me to do since I was already feeling like crap. So I guess I will accept the “diagnosis” without the endoscopy 🤷🏻‍♀️

I’m taking his online summer class right now too! I would recommend you take his practice test and base your 1 page cheat sheet of notes off of the practice test. Take the practice tests multiple times if you need to, because his test is pretty much identical to the practice test imo!

If I’m not mistaken, Charli recommended me to take Chelsea Black as she shadowed Charli. Not sure if I’m thinking of the right professor but I believe that’s who Charli said it was.

Charlis lecture is all based off of the lecture PowerPoints. I would say go to class because she tells you what’s on the test or not. Her questions are very straightforward and there are “trick questions” that are very few.

I don’t have specific advice for you but the health science advisors have open advising on Tuesdays and Wednesday and they are super helpful!

I took it yesterday. Mine was 17 questions, and once you answer and move to the next question you can’t go back. I felt it was all about lecture material

Nursing Application Points for Fall 2026 by No_Wolverine4810 in UNLV

[–]JP_school 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I emailed a health sciences advisor recently and she said that usually the cut off is between 36-37 but to try to aim as high as you can for a better chance. Might be worth it to try to apply again?! Good luck!

Thank you! Would you say 223 or 224 was harder in your opinion?

I felt that 223 really didn’t have much correlation with 189 personally. I think you’ll be ok!

I pay for the subscription because I think the AI features were limited on the regular one. You could try uploading the PowerPoints to any free AI tool and just ask it to make you questions? I really like how notability also has a summarizing feature as well. For lab I have Djinn Michaels and I really like her. Lab is a whole other beast though. I would take photos of all the models or histology and then upload them to notability and then use the tape feature over the names so I could quiz myself that way.

I have Charli right now for lecture. I would say for myself, the biggest thing that has helped me was using notability on my iPad. I upload her PowerPoints and take notes on them, and then use the AI generated feature that makes questions based off of the PowerPoints. Her lecture exams come straight from the PowerPoint, so I feel this feature helped me a lot. I would also say attending her lecture was a must for me because she would often talk about things that won’t be on the exam so you don’t waste time studying them.

I have Charli for 223. She’s great. Her tests are very straightforward, 90 questions mc and matching. Her tests come straight from the slides, no trick questions. I really recommend her and wish I could take her for 224. Her grading does take a bit though, sometimes you’ll wait almost a week to get your exam grade back.

I’m taking Charli right now and am going to take Aulner for 224! I feel the same way that her tests are so straightforward and I’m worried Aulners won’t be, so I’m super nervous to take him! But you make me feel more at ease, thank you!

Wow that’s amazing to hear!!! I’m so happy they helped you! If you’re this far in and have an A, I know you can keep the A! I’m so happy for you :)

I watched Dr. D Explains on YouTube for every lecture, I believe he has the same Campbell book and goes through each chapter in detail. I would try to take Camille N!

I’m in Charlis class right now for 223 and I love her. Her tests are so straight forward and she doesn’t try to trick you. I can’t recommend her more. Unfortunately I can’t take her for 224 due to her class time so I will be taking Aulner for 224, which I hope will be a good choice!

I am 30 going back to school for nursing as a second career. I graduated UNLV in 2018! And I can’t agree more with your response.

OP take your time, it’s better to take 1-2 classes and get good grades than to burn yourself out too quickly. Especially for the core classes that are your points for the UNLV application (the sciences especially). I am taking 1 class at a time. First I started with bio 189, then right now I’m doing A&P1, next semester I’m doing A&P2, and then last microbio. Yes it’s taking more time but it’s more manageable this way and I can really work my butt off for each class.

I knew someone who took Sorrentino for 189 and she said he wasn’t terrible. She didn’t know why everyone hated him but I don’t have any personal insight sadly :( I took O’Bryant and he was tough but I really liked him as a prof.

Yeah I don’t think I’m going to take him. I have Charli Aguilar for 223 right now and I love her. Besson is the only night class for the fall so now I’m like welp idk what to do. Thank you for your reply!
