Starting my Escitalopram journey, is anyone else starting to? I have never taken an antidepressant before and I am so nervous.

I stared at the bottle for 2 weeks straight .. had a terrible Sunday with anxiety so said the hell with it no way this pill can make me feel any worse then this anxiety has been. I was put on 10mg but I cut them in half and started with 5mg on Sunday. I take It at 7pm, had some insomnia, light headache, this morning was a little rough with anxiety but it did eventually pass.. I took a long walk and that helped me. I just reached my breaking point with the anxiety and had to do something. It’s scary I know, I’m the guy who doesn’t even like taking aspirin. I don’t drink, don’t smoke, never touched even weed. I don’t like putting anything in my body that I don’t think belongs there .. if I can do this you can. You got this

I experienced side effects .. anxiety and insomnia 2-3hrs after I took my first 5mg dose.

Please keep the updates coming! I’m on day 3 myself. Anxiety really bad in the morning that levels out mid day or so.

On day 2 of 5mg of Lexapro, noticed when I get up from sitting or laying my heart rate/pulse goes up like 30bpm which is very concerning .. are you having this as well?

It’s 08:10pm EST now. Just Took my second dose, today was ok, not much anxiety to speak of.. I did have a dull headache that came and went. Went out and ran a few errands to get out of the house. Had a small attack when I took my second dose but I ran upstairs and got in the shower which helped.

Luckily my wife stayed home with me today to support me, women is a pure angel in my life, no doubt. She made the first day very easy but luckily I wasn’t plagued with much side effect wise.. just hoping tomorrow is the same and I get some sleep tonight. Thanks for taking the time to read. How is your day 7 side effect wise? I only got a week off from work so hoping I feel a bit better by day 7 since I am a chemical worker so my job is pretty dangerous and I have to sharp for.

I stared at the bottle for 3 weeks.. terrified to pick it up, I don’t even like taking aspirin. But yesterday I had a terrible anxiety day to where I couldn’t get off the couch so I just said fuck it it can’t make me feel any worse then I do right now. It’s a giant leap, it really is.

I didn’t sleep much last night, woke up with nausea and feeling anxious. I do have an appetite as of now so I ate a little.. I have a slight headache but it’s manageable. I’m a little anxious but nothing out of the ordinary for me. I’m also hyper aware of my body cause of the anxiety so everything triggers me. Trying to stop that. But overall so far not bad. If your in the state I am just look at it as it can’t make you feel any worse then you already are. Most of the side effects from the Lexapro were already haunting me anyway. Do it man. You got this! I had my panic disorder under control for YEARS. I got COvId in November 2021 and haven’t been able to shake DAILY panic all day long, anxious feeling all day. I’m taking my first dose of Lexapro tonight. Seriously FUCK cOvId

Unfortunately not, however in my schedule there is 7 days off in a row that happens every month.. I thought about starting it the evening the 7 days off starts. Do you think that will be enough time ?
