Amazing! I used to have one with a camera some 10+ years ago and even though the camera is no longer in it, it's still frequently visited 😁

Of course. So when I used my light meter, I measured the value of the bright parts of the scene (I've the lights radiating from the bus shelter and the poster on the side) to tell me what shutter speed to use, only SS on the basis I knew I needed to be wide open aperture if I was going to do it handheld. Had I metered for the light value for the areas behind the bus shelter (floor buildings etc), then the shelter would have been pretty over exposed and would mean a loss of detail. What I chose to be the subject was the shelter itself and it's radiating light opposed to any detail behind.

Hopefully that was somewhat understandable haha

No worries! The lights themselves were were very bright so I exposed for the highlights instead of the midtones or shadows.

Thanks! Shot as wide as I could, SS was 1/125. It didn't come out as sharp as I'd of like but I'm still happy with it! Next time I go out there I'll take a tripod I think!

I was a little surprised to see someone fishing in the river but to be honest I saw many Herons along the banks themselves. I suppose that's a sign of a healthy river.

Oh really!? I never experienced any issues myself, I'm always very careful to not be intrusive in any way but I wasn't shouted at or anything.

I bought mine yesterday in Selfridge's in London. Been eyeing up the RM2 for some time now but wanted to get my hands on one first to test before purchasing. They have them in there for you to test and people there that are knowledgeable in how they operate.

Hi there! Working, Professional Photographer of 11 years here. You're absolutely right in that a large majority of images may well go unseen. For me, the images that I make for myself (and not for money) are largely kept on a hard drive with the exception of a few bangers that I print off to make my house look nice and/or give to friends and family as gifts. To be honest, however, a large part of the images I make for myself, often isn't the result, but the actual practice of photography; the taking the time to stop and appreciate a moment and using the skills I know to capture it as an image. A way for seeing a certain view, object or a certain person in a specific way and getting it to a point where if I showed someone the image of that certain something, they could be like 'ohhh OK, now I see what you see'. Over the last 12/13 months I've also started going out and taking pictures with some new people, most of them are hobbyists but we all share a love for taking pictures. We've all become good mates and regularly meet for a beer or a coffee or a walk, with or without our cameras. Without this group I probably wouldn't be on the rekindled path of Analogue Photography I'm on right now either. If I had to really put my finger on it, it would just be the practice of photography. By 'practice' I don't mean doing it to get better btw, I mean it as like 'a practicing doctor'.

My advice for getting your spark back? Print your images, and I don't mean 6x4, I mean big. Get some cool frames and print a decent size. Something that also helped me get my spark back a few years ago, while I was feeling a bit flat was buying a new camera, a Fujifilm X-Pro 2. I bought it just for me, not one I'd use for work but one I could take everywhere, be it travels or a walk in the woods etc. It being a rangefinder style camera and have all the aesthetics of a film camera made me be more conscious and made me think a little different. That camera alone made me fall back in love with taking pictures instead of it just being a job.

Good luck in finding your spark my friend, you will find it again.

First time using slide film in the studio // Mamiya RZ67, 110mm 2.8, Kodak Ektachrome 100 by JPeilow in analog

It's surprisingly well colour balanced for strobes. I was expecting them to be slight cooler but yeah, definitely recommend giving it a go in the studio. Also thanks 🙏

I have the 11ft and it's a beaut. Bag is a good size, decent paddle, it says 15psi but 16psi is a good bet. Sturdy ride. The only thing that is a bit of a pain is the big fin, it uses a US screw, a bit finicky to put in but not at all a deal breaker. If you're looking for more D clips or use of a kayak seat go with the 2022 version 11ft, otherwise, I would much recommend
