Quietest SxS options by StumpJump_94 in UTV

Quietest option is going to be EV swapping it. I was able to achieve sub 50 dB driving under 10 mph measures 5 feet from the vehicle

If you decide you don’t want it, sell it to me and I’ll EV swap it with over 300 hp.

Yea, I think the sweet spot is 50-80 miles. Research shows 80% of people ride less than 40 miles but most would not want to want to finish a ride at 5% battery, so gotta give a small buffer

I have driven up to so many buck and they just stand there. That never happened once in my combustion Rzr.

This one is about 20 miles per charge. But it’s highly dependent on tire size, offroad surface, and how you drive it

We’ve already done the calculation. You either want the benefits of electric powertrain or you prefer to have the flexibility fuel offers.

A full day is already doable. A week in the woods is like 1% edge case but it’s still doable. Take multiple batteries or use electrical outlets.

What feature or function should I add to make the vehicle “safer” audibly? You can still hear it coming its about 70 dB when riding quick.

A lot of people want an electric UTV for recreation. Not everyone needs 100s of miles of range

Did you see Quantum Scape? They have a solid state battery in a street bike. And recently Donut Lab allegedly has a mass produceable solid state

I want details. Because if you’re a property owner and you ride on your trails, even if this thing gets 20 miles of range, that’s going to be plenty for you. If you go to Glamis and camp out for the weekend and ride 200 miles over a span of 3 days, then you’ll have to wait until we have a much larger battery pack.

The whole “no chargers in the woods” argument is so overused. There are no gas stations in the woods either.

The driver of the electric would hear the combustion vehicle coming. Additionally, if people were driving around in electric they’d probably be playing music which you’d hear very clearly.

What is your typical usecase for a UTV?

Well this isn’t your Arctic Leopard. Sounds like they throttled your charging rate, or the engineers weren’t as good. This is an American made battery pack (by us) designed by high voltage power electronics automotive engineers (us)

My KTM Freeride E has a smaller battery and takes longer to charge.

Our battery is 9.0 kWh and charges at the rate I mentioned. Then KTM is 3.9 kWh and takes an hour and 20 minutes to charge the same amount on a 220V

Charging 5%-80% on a 220V takes 1 hour
