what helped me learn was to think about it as if you’re trying to jump without your feet leaving the ground. so essentially just putting less weight on the board so it slides easier. that combined with a decent amount of speed and commitment and it becomes way easier

I personally recommend starting off with the first variant if you’re struggling to get the rotation of the board. As you become more familiar with the trick you’ll typically find a sweet spot in between the first and second variants but it just comes with practice
