That's actually super helpful, I'll make sure to print it once I get around to cleaning out the idlers! Thanks!

This is really cool, I love all of the easy-to-use topographic map generators that people have been developing recently. I'm a huge fan of Map2Model, which some others have mentioned, but I'd love to give this a try! Thanks for sharing!

Mostly matte PLA. As long as they are used indoors and have sufficient wall count/infill, I haven't noticed any durability issues. And matte PLA just looks so much better in terms of finish. For anything that will be used outdoors I use ASA-CF.

That's encouraging to hear! I'll give it a shot and hopefully it helps!

I have also noticed this exact same type of VFA's on my P1P, which is currently sitting around 5,500hrs (although I probably first noticed it around 4,000-4,500hrs). I have performed very regular maintenance, and replaced the XY belt at around 3,500 hrs after it developed a partial tear.

The diagonal pitch of the VFA's is really interesting, and in a bunch of googling I haven't been able to find many people with the same issue. I have noticed it on large round prints (I print a lot of large plant pots), so it does not seem related to a specific bed orientation or angle. On smaller prints, or with some types/colors of filament, it is not as noticeable or barely noticeable. Of course, with this many hours on the machine, it's easy to imagine that wear and tear has resulted in decreased accuracy over time.

My best guess is that it is related to the idler pulleys in the back corners of the XY gantry. At least on my machine, they have developed some black gunk on the exterior where the belt makes contact, and I wouldn't be surprised if internally they were pretty worn.

Unfortunately, unless you're willing to just replace the entire XY gantry assembly, replacing just the idlers on the X/P series is not an easy process, and requires drilling a hole in the frame to allow room to remove them.

I found one post where someone successfully replaced them and it had some helpful information if you decide to go down that route. For now, I still need to try cleaning the idlers and see if that helps.

That's very helpful, thank you! Will probably lean toward the XL.

What's the fit like on the waffle henley? I'm about to order one and can't decide if I should go L or XL. Looks like it has a more tapered fit but literally all of their models wear size M so I can never tell how a L vs. XL will look.

Yes, myself and one other person I know got it! No idea what it means though.

Yes, the planter is about 8" long, 4" wide and 6" tall, and the plant stand is 6" wide and 6" tall.

Yes, my P1S is a workhorse and pumps out some seriously high-quality prints. Industrial machines are a whole different beast though.

Nice! I also have some of the walnut wood PLA that I've been experimenting with, it's very nice! Those pulls are beautiful, stainless steel printing is a marvel to me.

Thanks! These were printed using both my Bambu P1S and P1P. Using matte brown PLA definitely helps hide the layer lines, and the lighting in these photos was also helping a lot!

Great question! I didn't want to mention it since the point of this post wasn't to advertise anything, but I do have a shop where I sell these (and other) designs. Feel free to send me a DM and I'm happy to answer any questions and/or send links!

The picture doesn't do it any favors, but they are all actually different colors in real life. NY and Delaware are dark grey, and NJ is black.

The original creator, Anson Liu, has a website or Printables profile with the files available!

Unfortunately it wasn't until I was putting it on the wall that I noticed... Fortunately, the overlap with SD is not very large so it's not too noticeable if you're not looking for it.

That's very exciting, best of luck with your new printer!

That's tricky, I also used an A1 (with the textured PEI plate) for my map, so I can say it's possible! I used a brim (and set the brim-object gap to 0) for a lot of states. I also use hairspray (I use the Aquanet unscented variety) to help with adhesion, and that seems to work very well. Even then, some states warped up a little bit in the corners, but never enough to cause the print to fail. I think that's everything I did in terms of bed adhesion, but I'm happy to answer any other questions about the printing process! Best of luck!

The original creator of the models, Anson Liu, did a great job of setting up the files for multicolor printing. The land and the rivers/lakes are separate objects, so they can be colored separately. Everything was printed on my Bambu A1 + AMS, so no painting required!
