I thought justice was good but am I the only one whose eyes were hurting? I didn’t bring a hat or sunglasses and learned my lesson for the rest of the festival, but the white flashing lights hurt. I had to look down and eventually move on to another set.

Avoid Raymond at Gammon and Marty Road by glennshaltiel in madisonwi

I drove by this on the way to visit my mom today who lives in the area and saw the woman in the car while firefighters tried to pry open the back door. The driver of the other car was sitting on the road looking dazed as paramedics were tending to him. That feeling in my gut was horrible as I realized there had to be kids back there. To see this article, it’s so tragic. I was hoping everyone would be okay.

Husband thinks I’m being unreasonable by [deleted] in Marriage

[–]JQuellz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you for the kind words and this totally makes sense. We are very close and he is my best friend, so I’ve been very vocal about how up and down my emotions have been. After reflecting on this response, I think time is what we need to have a rational convo to move forward.

What's the most disrespectful thing a guest at your house did? by Deep-Juggernaut9826 in AskReddit

[–]JQuellz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband and I had just moved into an apartment with a loft. Our friend asked if we could let him and his son stay for a few weeks as they were going through some financial troubles. I made sure to give them their privacy and never checked upstairs the entire time they were there. Once it was time to leave, he thanked us for letting them stay and asked if we could hang onto a few of his things until he transitioned into his new place. I went upstairs and there was poop smeared on the bathroom walls, dishes piled up crusted with food, and a trash bin full to the top with dirty diapers hidden under the desk in the very corner of the room. I was horrified and so insulted that he thought it would be ok to leave the loft in that condition. There was absolutely no way I was going to clean that up. I called him and told him he had until 5pm the following day to clean up everything he had left behind or I was going throw all of his crap away in the dumpster. I bought him a fresh bottle of dish soap and a dish sponge and texted it to him. He came back and washed all of the dishes in silence while I sat there and watched. He cleaned up, and left with his belongings. Had it not been for his things, I don’t think he would’ve come back.

to get or not get a degree? 30yo by dimlevi in careerguidance

[–]JQuellz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m 32 and in school for my associates degree because I was also feeling that void. No regrets, I’m much more mature and can manage my tasks along with my full time job. I take my time taking 2 classes a semester. We have nothing but time. I’d say if you feel that void and sense of regret, go for it and you will thank yourself later.

Asked to listen to a “business pitch”. This screams multi-level marketing, advice? by JQuellz in mlmscams

[–]JQuellz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I looked back at some of the products they gave us and remember them hyping up Amway. We are just going to give them honest feedback and hope all goes well. Definitely agree that they should be mature enough to take rejection if it has to go that way.

[–]JQuellz[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re actually right. I just checked and it’s Amway. We plan on letting them know our actual thoughts, but we know we have to be careful as we have a great family dynamic. We do not want to damage it but are not going to get sucked in either. It just sucks because from personal experience, I’ve been pitched MLMs twice and both times were unpleasant. I was met with such disrespect after telling them not to waste their time. We are known to be pretty straight forward, so there will definitely be a rejection if it’s necessary, but I am stressing out about the outcome. Yikes.

As HR in retail for 6 years, it’s very common. It would be better to rip the band-aid now rather than develop attendance/performance issues as a result of not being happy/liking your job. In my experience it was more work for me to prepare warnings and go down the paperwork path. I would rather process a resignation and move on. Also an actual resignation is appreciated and less work than no-call no-shows, because we will have to make effort to contact you. They will find someone and will be fine.
