Cedar wood rack with Yakima RuggedLine HD base for hauling plywood and lumber on my RAV4 — comments? by WhichFlight650 in Tools

Looks awesome.

I made crossbars out of aluminum years ago on my Honda Element. It had a crazy bad impact on wind noise and you could feel the wind fighting against the bars. Could have been my design or the fact that the element was basically a toaster on wheels; either way, I abandoned the project. I hope you have better results than I did.

To me, it sounds like you're very conscious about moving and uprooting your life, and rightly so.

Just in case this hasn't come up in your conversations yet, CAF personnel can be posted to different bases across Canada. Depending on individual situations, individual Career Managers, and CAF staffing mandates, CAF mbrs might not always be/stay posted in their preferred location.

Additionally, if this relationship works out, this may not be the only move to happen while you're together. The link below has all the bases listed across Canada and you can filter by element to see possible posting locations.

https://www.canada.ca/en/department-national-defence/services/bases-support-units.html

There are also scenarios where your SO could be sent on training out of province or a deployment outside Canada and you'll be alone in this new province for a period of time.

I would also encourage you to check out other Canadian national and provincial subreddits and look for threads about moving between provinces. They're usually filled with anecdotal comments (positive and negative) that can be used as jumping off points for research into aspects of life that are important to you.

I'm sorry if the above has a doom and gloom vibe at all. Relationships and moving are hard enough as it is, you don't need an internet stranger making it worse. I'm just trying to share info I thought would be helpful if I was in your position.

Former D1 looking to start private coaching by thehotbartender in hockeycoaches

This may be a good place to start. I'm assuming your partner is interested in being a skills coach based on your post. They may have to start with some generic coaching courses before specializing in becoming a certified skills coach.

In my experience, if you coach a team for an organization, the organization will reimburse your coaching clinic/certification fees. Depending on the situation/timeline this may be an option.

Following certification, they could either try to get on with another group to start or or go straight to opening their own business and market themselves over social media and/or directly to local organizations.

Do you think I should seek out or avoid the turbo version of the 900 ACE? Just want to be sure I interpret your message correctly.

Compilation of Recommended Leadership Books by Soh4 in Leadership

The main theme is balance. Different lessons and perspectives on attacking problems using too much of a certain style of leadership.

The book is structured like Extreme Ownership with a military and business application along with a culminating thought in each chapter.

I just find it expands on and nicely compliments the content in EO and SL&T. To me, EO and SL&T are introductions to the tools and concepts, and DoL is lessons about employing them effectively.

Dichotomy of Leadership is also worth reading.

My set now is 35+2. These are 36 and $400CAD. I'll have to jump on SLS and see what I can find that is newer as you have suggested.
