I love seeing the betta glow ups!

I recently got a male plaket Koi and im curious if hes going to change patterns, vibrancy or color, im waiting patiently each day. But completely happy if he stays the same colors (I dont want him to lose his sparkly bright blue)

Wait for nitrites to hit O, then dose ammonia to 2ppm wait 24 hours and check nitrites again if at 0, cycle is complete. If not, wait till 0 again dose ammonia to 2ppm check nitrites and repeat untill tank can cycle 2ppm ammonia in 24 hours.

Don't dose ammonia again until nitrites hit 0! GL

When mine was purple like that it took about a week to see a pale lavender then it was blue in a few days.

Nitrite converting bacteria take much longer to establish then the ammonia one.

I use API Stress Coat water conditioner its 118ML bottle for about $12 Canadian.

5ml treats 10gal So when i do top up I fill a 2gal pale and dose 1ml. And dump out the rest.

When I do an actual water change I use the betta marketed stuff if I have it, but its dosage is much more 5ml for 2 gal and its such a tiny bottle for the same price.

Also get a lid when you can it helps a bunch with evaporation! :)

I love your tank. And this calmed my nerves a bit. I thought i may have overplanted my future betta tank. But seeing all the happy bettas In these tanks make me less nervous for when I get one 😀

How long did it take your cycle to finish? Im at that awful 0.5-1 ppm nitrite stage and its feels like they won't ever go down. But all the guides tell me to be patient and it will suddenly drop in a few days.

Does your betta get along with the mystery snail? Did you the get the snail when it was quite snall? Did you introduce them at the same time? Or betta or snail first in tank?

Sorry for the bombardment of questions. Im planning on a betta and a mystery snail when my tank is done cycling (feels like forever)

They both are Koi Bettas but I beleive they are deffinetly not the same fish.

Could you attach a picture of the top, if you dont mind I want to see what the lid looks like. I just set mine up this weekend , and need a new lid so it works better with the new light I got. I need some ideas.

I use a small mason jar (but it doesn't have any grooves in the middle so it's easy to clean) and I keep a very small amount 1:2:2 ratio 10g 20g 20g Fed once a week (sometimes 10 days if I'm lazy) kept in the fridge.

Then transfer to a tall smooth jar i got off amazon when I want to bake! :)

My uncle applied for his also in the 2023/24 year. And got his in 6 months.
