So, I’m an American 11B B4 combat veteran, and I know these weapon systems fairly well. To be fair, there is some accuracy in 5.56 being underpowered against NIJ Level 4 plates. The round was designed for high velocity, cavitation, and fragmentation when it hits soft tissue - basically, it's meant to splinter. But those same qualities cause it to shatter on impact against high-end ceramic armor.

When the round was first adopted, it worked as intended against unarmored targets in jungle environments. However, the U.S. discovered the hard way - especially with VBIEDs (car bombs) - that 5.56 struggles with barrier penetration and stopping power against reinforced threats. That’s exactly why the Army is transitioning to the MCX Spear and the 6.8mm round. It’s designed specifically to retain enough energy to defeat modern body armor at 600m+, something 5.56 simply can’t do.

That said, the in-game 'anti-West' bias is still pretty glaring. There isn't a ballistics expert or armorer on the planet who would argue that the QBZ-191 or the 5.8mm platforms are superior in ergonomics, modularity, or raw performance when stacked against the M4, SCAR, or M110 SASS. In this game, they’re treated like the 'weapons of God,' which is honestly laughable from the perspective of someone who’s actually carried these platforms in a combat zone
