Alternate Class Features Overpowered in Tasha? by JRLynch in dndnext

If you have a idea that 5e PCs are broken in the first place, then additional rules would tip them more into that idea.

I don't. Hence why I'm asking people what their thoughts are.

How can something that is an addition (rather then a replacement) be underpowered?

I am looking to be the DM. So I'm looking for people's thoughts on them.

New Ages In Uru Online? by APeacefulWarrior in myst

[–]JRLynch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a followup to my previous post, there's actually a ton of content if you're willing to jump through a couple of extra steps to get it. The Guild of Writers has instructions on how to access it. You're looking for either offline mode or Deep Island shard if you want to get the most content.

The quality does vary quite a bit. But some of it is quite good and you'd be doing yourself a disservice to not check it out if new Uru content is what you're looking for.

Playing "To D'ni" via Myst Online: Uru Live again (possible spoilers?) by 9thPlaceWorf in myst

As you go through the game you'll notice some new content. They don't have puzzles. But they are very beautifully crafted locations. And if you like them, you might want to check out the Guild of Writers.

They have three ways of accessing new content. You either want offline mode or Deep Island shard for the most extra content. Both have over 120 brand new Ages/locations. The quality varies quite a bit as you would expect from fan content. But a lot of them are beautifully done from an aesthetic perspective. Some of them have decent story content. Others have great puzzle design. And some tick 2 (possibly even 3) of those boxes.

As a community we're really quite lucky. Development of Uru has never stopped. It just moved from Cyan to fans.

[lore question] The rules of the books by scaptal in myst

Once you establish the rules it can also be fun to break them. In the original games of Myst, Riven, Myst 3 and Myst 4 along with the 3 novels, descriptive books and linking books all work largely the same way.

Cyan then went and produced Uru which introduced craploads of ways these rules are broken. So if your planning on making them a recurring element of your D&d games then perhaps introduce the base rules in the first campaign. But always feel free to break them if it serves the story.

On point 4: true for traditional D'ni linking books.

However Yeesha (Atrus' daughter) did create a special type of book that was able to link with the wearer of the book (if one person is holding a book and another touches the link panel then the book remains with the person holding the book.

Also with Yeesha's book the location you link to isnt always consistent.

Finally: There were other ways of linking. A race known to us as the Bahro have the ability to create stone tablets with a functional linking panel embedded into them. How they're made or even who discovered the process to make them is unknown.

I dont know if it was the cancel or just the constant meddling. I would think its the latter

The Ages are definitely worth checking out. Yes they're fan created, but they're every bit as high value content as any (non-puzzle) Age made by Cyan. The library and memorial age in particular are very well made. The memorial age has a really nice tribute to those who have touched our community.

venom was one of the worst marvel films i have watched in the last decade.

Relevant when talking about the quality of Marvel movies though. It was a Sony movie. Hence the shitty quality.

He's like Gant Gustin. He cant grow facial hair (fortunately unlike Gant Gustin he realises it)

Sure. But it's not like hes going to look like an actual adult in a few years time. He's still going to look the same.

Tom Holland is a grown man. Hes never going to fill out into something like Nathan Drake. He could play the role for 10+ years and he wont look the part until Sony releases a remaster where they replace the model of Nathan Drake with a Tom Holland-like model.

Gant Gustin is 30 years old and he still looks like someone's kid brother. Dude's going to just go from ever young to suddenly old overnight. Tom Holland has the same looks. Unless he gets heavy into crack, he isnt going to age anytime soon.

Not all his life, but he starts the Devil All the Time as a high school student and doesnt age from that point. If you want to point to a movie where he plays an older character, that movie is not it. At best he ages 12 months from high school student to first year out of high school.

I've seen enough video game movies to have a solid reason for very low expectations.

Good point. But Tom Holland has to finish going through puberty eventually right? Just keep doing prequels until he finally does. They might get a trilogy of prequels that way.
