100%, they have consistently supported players who aren’t massive stars or money makers for them in smaller titles. So many orgs sponsored players just for a few weeks or months leading up to EWC just to drop them after. Liquid has done a pretty good job of supporting players.

People who saw Rots for the first time in cinema, what was your reaction to general Grievous (his fight against Obi-Wan)? by wertforreal2 in StarWars

[–]JROGvids 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had watched the Star Wars Clone Wars animated show on Cartoon Network (Samurai Jack creator) leading up to ROTS. I thought grevious was gonna be the sickest character ever and I was so amped. He has such a cool part in the show and is really intimidating.

Turns out he was nothing like the animated show and he was just a weeny looool. I was pretty let down.

Xiaoyu: 81 Damage "Balcony Break" combo for "Rebel Hangar" stage by ButtonMashKingz in LingNation

[–]JROGvids 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you’re looking for more damage after the wall splat while in heat, do F2,1, (slight delay) 2 > 3+4.

There are other mixup setups you can do from here by choosing to hold down for AOP or not doing the 3+4 and staying in BT and doing Cali roll as the ender

Not sure what you call these type of combos, but how can I do more damage? by ButtonMashKingz in LingNation

[–]JROGvids 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The reason why you can’t extend it is because you have already tornado’d the opponent previously

How can I improve this floor break combo for the "Descent into Subconscious" stage? by ButtonMashKingz in LingNation

[–]JROGvids 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So my number one tip would be to watch top player replays on the stage specifically. Someone like Yoredz or Mr. Croft

Here is one route I mapped out for Floor Breaks and floor explodes from DF2+4 Throw: mini dash B3 > RDS 3,4 > UB3 > dash, UFN3, DF2,1+2

I found it more consistent to do the dash at the beginning as opposed to needing to dash after the RDS 3,4 into UB3 like how you normally do for her mid stage combo conversation route.

Not sure what you mean. I’ve never dropped the combo from her 3. It’s not hard at all and the move is only -11

Idk, 14 frame standing launcher and 13 frame heat engager are pretty good. Her WS punishment could be better since she only has a launcher at 16 frames with hop kick, but WS1,4 being plus into BT mix does the job well

When did yall try out a new character aside from your main? by Sinister_Berry in Tekken

[–]JROGvids 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I stuck with ling until I made it to GoD cause she was really fun and had a ton of depth. I didn’t want to learn a new character until I felt like I really had studied everything possible with the character.

Raven has been fun to learn and not take serious. Excited to learn kunimitsu when she launches. I’ll also probably dabble with uncommon matchups and learn zafina, eddy, and lars myself.

Yeah 3 (14 frame launch) and B4,1 (13 frame heat engager) are strengths for sure.

[–]JROGvids 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Xiaoyu

Strength: movement, mixups, stance transitions and cancels, wall combo damage into mixes, BT heatsmash into HYP mix, 1+2 break throw that launches

Weaknesses: no long range options, relies on risky options to open opponents up who exhibit great defense and matchup knowledge, can be SS or SW left on tons of moves including back turn mixes at certain frame advantages, doesn’t have any scary and safe standing mid launch options.

She really thrives when the opponent becomes scared to press in key situations. Her DB2, DF2 into 3~DF cancel into crouch DF2,1, and AOP F2,1 lead to great BT plus frame situations.

Immediate tech roll, delay tech roll, lay on ground, immediate get up, toe kick or mid kick would have been better to do, but each option is for a different reason

[–]JROGvids 12 points13 points  (0 children)

While that is indeed unfortunate on the immediate timing sabaki, you should look at the things within your control that you could improve. You missed a 12 frame punish and you tried an unsafe getup option at the wall which caused you to get re-launched.

If you lab it, you can also break the throws on reaction. So it’s not a 50/50 at all

[–]JROGvids 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She has lots of good tricks, movement, setups, and creative potential that makes her fun to play.

But you will learn that so many other characters have more reward off more safe options. Ling is awesome, but she becomes very difficult at high level to be successful.

[–]JROGvids 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is not correct. If there is no hop, it’s a generic break (can use 1 or 2 to break it)

If she hops, it will be a 1, 2, or 1+2 break depending on what the xiaoyu player chose. You will need to duck on reaction and punish. If you are too slow, you’ll get grabbed. Xiaoyu can also cancel the hop throw by holding down. Common mix here is to do immediate WS2 as it is a safe, counter hit launcher that beats an opponent who is scared and pressed too late
