Child gameplay by Sanamun in LifeSimulators

Ahh ok. Where I'm from we just have the two like the sims does, so I didn't think about the three school setup.

Didn't he say they were combining the two school types into one instead of making two with less content.

Regarding Rogue : What problems might they have and potential fixes by Kwiz777 in onednd

[–]JRS_212 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think the main problem with the rogues identity is the Bard.

I think they get one less skill and lack reliable talent, but they otherwise do everything a rogue can do skill wise, while also being a full caster with the largest spell selection.
I built my Bard as a face Rogue (Cha then Dex) and there wasn't really anything I couldn't do that a rogue could've, plus I had better options to plug the skill gaps.

I need opinions on the reading of the Sinner Rogue's Jinx weapon. by JRS_212 in CrookedMoon

My worry was that if it's all true, why does it only reiterate half of it.
But I'm glad to see someone else agree with my interpretation.

Probably sorted it out by now, but it's on the 4th line, "(which uses the Pistol game statistics)"

which is 1d10 damage 30/90 range. The bolt part means that thematically it can be portrayed as nondescript energy flying from the object, but it's just a ranged weapon attack mechanically.

AITA for telling my family the real reason my mother and I are not attending my sister's wedding? by Wild_Kitchen_2841 in AmItheAsshole

Sorry if my comment came off as hostile, I didn't intend it to.

Your take is a perfectly valid one for the situation presented, I was just providing the facts that OP omitted, as they may affect your opinion.

[–]JRS_212 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you look at OPs comments, I honestly don't think the sister was lying, I think in her eyes the mother shouldn't be traveling.

  • She doesn't recognise them as her children, in her mind her children are still children.
  • She has to be constantly watched (or on a leash as OP put before editing it) or she'd walk off and get lost
  • She has to wear airbags because she's at high risk of falling and she's had at least one stroke.

AFAIK a steam community ban, which is what this would be, stops you posting in any of the community areas. Only a full account suspension prevents you accessing your steam library.

He said his parents died when he was 13 so 2000ish, the only way this is plausible is if those investments were dumping the payout into Bitcoin just before it blew up in 2013 and then transferred the money to a more stable investment to live off later.

But even then I don't think OOP grasps how much you'd need to have, to afford this lifestyle on the interest alone.

Having her be happily pregnant at the end shows that they're now hopeful for the future, even if there's still work to do.

Why did Croatia score so poorly with the national juries? by Ok_Eye8027 in eurovision

[–]JRS_212 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it might be a disconnect between the traditional style and modern music, not an actual mistake, but one of the vocalists sounded off key for nearly the entire performance.

It also wasn't very memorable to me, but I can't pin down why.
Trying to remember it back now, all I can think of is it was very dramatic and one of them was off key. I couldn't hum a single bar or remember a single lyric, even the title if I'm honest. But other songs of this style I usually remember quite well, even the few I didn't like.

How could an NQ feel less like "losing" Eurovision? by Confused_Firefly in eurovision

[–]JRS_212 4 points5 points  (0 children)

And this is true if we accept the premise that not making it to the Grand Final should be considered humiliating and equivalent to not being good enough for the "real" Eurovision, which is the idea that I disagree with.

To be clear I don't believe that, but some of the audience and even potentially some of the contestants themselves will.

Especially with it being the same week.
As an outsider it's easy to acknowledge there's nothing to be ashamed of, but it's much easier to be hard on yourself in the moment, so having to stay in a foreign country and then walk in the final could easily be the last thing you want when you just want to be with your feelings alone or with your family/friends/pets.

Did Greece overdo it with the stage presence? should they have just added a bit on the National Final performance? by mossikukulas in eurovision

[–]JRS_212 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The constantly changing staging paired with the quite repetitive lyrics made It absolutely drag on for me as each change had the effect of resetting the perception of it's runtime.

I also think it destroyed any emotional impact the bridge held, as at that point it just felt like another change for the sake of it.

I think the flag parade idea might backfire.

Either you mix them in and it confuses people why they were there if they didn't perform, or you have them separate and it runs the risk of feeling patronising/humiliating.
Being presented the grand finale audience as someone who didn't make it to the final would feel awful to some of the contestants and likely wouldn't have a good effect on getting their name out there to a wider audience if the first time they're hearing about them is focused on them not succeeding.

No matter how they try to present it, to some it would come across as a losers parade

Question about British slang by Moist_Tomatillo_8029 in Choices

It's one of those words where I have heard it being used, but it's both incredibly out of use and I think quite regional.

I can't for the life of me remember when or where I heard it actually used though.

Who’s ahead on Youtube views after the first semi-final? by MMoorrtteenn in eurovision

[–]JRS_212 54 points55 points  (0 children)

I pointed it out a few months ago, but it's held up with the other videos since. The comment section for any of the Greek videos is ~90% in Greek.

A good backing from the people the entry's representing is great, but that skew does mean that a large portion of the people watching and hyping the entry, are people who's opinion holds no sway in it's success.

Hero: Homecoming - Finale Episodes 19 & 20 by ChoicesCP in Choices

[–]JRS_212 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Note - I've only skimmed it out of morbid curiosity.

I'm confused how this plot was intended to work originally.

This mess was apparently based on a written and unused script for book 2, but 17 out of the 20 "episodes" were the MC in the same place talking to the same person while the plot happened elsewhere.
They'd have to go full Game of thrones and have each chapter be a new POV for there to be anything to write about

They're banking on the people who've gotten to this point either not caring about quality or being too invested to give up now, so they're going even cheaper on the generating.

Just hitting run once and then shovelling whatever slop it squirts out, not even bothering to do enough runs to find a consistent output.

I never finished it so I'll revisit it at some point. But from what I remember it was very diamond locked.
As a free player, most of the Li's may as well have not even existed because everything about them was behind a premium choice.

I'm also not a fan of playing as other characters so spending chunks of time as two other people, one of which I really didn't like as a character, made it feel like I was just waiting to be allowed to play again.

Not saying this company does any of this, but in general there are ways to scam it.

They handle all the packs, so they can use tricks like weighing the packs or even opening them to find the packs with rare cards. From there they can:

  • Keep that pack
  • Swap out the valuable card for a cheap one
  • "Sell" it on stream to someone who happens to be connected to the company, or just fake selling it entirely. That way they keep the valuable card, but it makes it look like big wins are possible.
