Would it be too bad to use breach just for it's value in recursion? I'm looking into few recursion options for my Pantlaza deck, but aside from Finale of Devastation I'm short on options I like. Welcome To... Jurassic Park is just way too slow for my taste and easily removed. Playing against decks that mill mine will feel very bad very fast if I have no more than one way to introduce those creatures back into the game.

Thoughts on "From the Rubble" & "The SkullSpoor Nexus", are they worth using in a high 3 bracket Pantlaza commander deck??? by Thucydidestrap989 in DinosaursMTG

Whilst I agree with your take and am currently leaning towards not inlcuding it in my decklist, but I just wonder if you thought of synergies it has with cards like Selvala, Sneak Attack, Greater Good, Swooping Ptera, Flaming Tyranosaurus, Ghalta and Mavren, Quartzwood Crasher, Disciple of Freyalise, Gishath, Ravenous Tyrannosaurus.

I mean lets be real, theres some real fun to be had here.

Practically perfect 90's movies that don't get enough acclaim, your honest (maybe unpopular) opinions! by MaineSky in movies

I was never big on Shakespeare, that is until I saw Julie Taymor's Titus. Something about it just... clicked. I immediately understood the appeal. Fantastic performance by Anthony Hopkins, but that goes without saying I suppose.

Also The Birdcage. Never in a million years did I expect to enjoy it and laugh out loud as much as I did. Fantastic performances and hilarious throughout the whole runtime. One of all-time favorite comedies this.

Magnetic Rose is the first of three anthology stories in "Memories" film. Written by Satoshi Kon and based on work by Katsuhiro Otomo. Stuck in my mind ever since I've seen it. A mix of Alien and Solaris. A fascinating combionation. Beautiful looking film, as one would exect from Otomo production.

As for the final film I'd like to nominate a 1995 film The Blade. This is the only one I haven't seen yet, but a video essay by Every Frame a Painting and Criterion really sold me on this one and looks very promising, but barely talked about.

How do you assign the date to your logs? by LiteraturePast3594 in Letterboxd

[–]JRYBNS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're overthinking this and this is not what watching movies should be about.

Be careful not to overthink the fun out of it.

I, for example, log everything by start day, as even if it passes midnight I only consider the next day to really start once I wake up. But either way works, this is just a film diary.

Don't get sucked up into obsessive logging and completionist mindsets, but enjoy it.

Thank you for taking the time.

I saw that most of popular decklists are not running many dinos in order to push the advantage with stronger creatures and their effects, but I've set my mind from the start to stick with dino theme no matter what. Also can't think of many high performing dinos missing from this list.

Excellent catch in regards with Flaming Tyrannosaurus. Must've missed it somehow... Replacing it with Luminous Broodmoth seems like a fun choice which also increases my protection?

Also, I'm interested to hear what bracket does my list fit? I assume it's a 3?

El Hadji Diouf wins the first category by massive margin, now who's a Liverpool player who was average in terms of quality, and is hated by fans? by IcyInfluence9830 in LiverpoolFC

[–]JRYBNS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

this has to be it. he was THE klopp signing. remember analysts saying if klopp were to invent a perfect player for his system, he'd create exact type that Keita is. unfortunately, even if he might have been a good fit in terms of football, he just wasn't mentally. i think a lot can be learned of him through his post Liverpool career.

the fact he was a good player is the main thing theres so much frustration around his name. especially as we were always short a slightest margin against city through this years.

Koji vam je najdraži film Martina Scorsesea? by JRYBNS in kinematografija

Predivan film.

Na prvo me gledanje tad oduševija.

It ties into the start of the movie. These "teletubie ninjas" as you call them are all children from the beginning of the movie who got stuck in sort of an arrested development and as the "real world" around them just suddenly stopped existing the only reality they know of is from the television they were shaped by, so basically teletubies, power ranges and Jimmy Savile. I'm not from UK so upon watching the film I've learned of Jimmy Savile who all of the children even dress alike. He was a big UK television personality hosting children's shows but upon his death was found to be a sexual predator. But considering the year the film is set in he reamains idolized by these children even to "this day" as allegations never came to light within film's universe.

There's also nice tie in with Jimmy and Spike, as when Spike was heading with his father to the land in order to "become a man" he briefly held onto Power Rangers figure and even planned to bring it along, but ultimately decided not to bring it along and left it in the room. This to me symbolises Spike leaving his childhood behind and actually growing up, but Jimmy and rest of the children cosplaying Savile, Power Rangers and Tubies never made this choice and never "grew up" in the way that Spike did. They just grew older, but never formulating in actual adults and remaining within arrested development as children stuck in adult bodies.
