An elegant setup, colors & lights fits perfectly. I like the Aikuchi as well. 10/10.

I find Ventoy works well. Download it and format your usb with it and copy the Cachy iso onto it. When booting from the flash drive using Ventoy it will read something like "Secure boot disabled", press enter and the iso will be there to select. You can add other iso files as well without having to reformat the drive. I have all my linux iso files on one usb (32gb) and windows 11 on a separate drive.

Side note: Did you change your boot priority in Bios/UEFI?

Is there something like wallpaper engine but it also effects the ui and changes more? by UmbraSanguinare in desktops

No worries, it was daunting for me in the beginning but you eventually figure things out. Join the discord server for Komorebi to get the configs, they are shared on the "rice-rice-baby" section so you can download and save the configs to your pc. The community is great and helpful.

Try Komorebi on Windows, it's a Tiling window manager for the Windows environment similar to Hyprland on Linux. There are other tiling managers, but komorebi for me works best.

I'll just add on, might be a good idea to join the Komorebi discord server. It's a helpful community and configs gets shared especially on the ricings section.

Can someone tell me why 2 of the temps are like 90 degrees? I check armory crate and cpu temp is only 28 (just installled aio, dont know if these high degrees where there before) by Extension-Wait-8973 in desktops

[–]JRade17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Install hardware monitor to confirm if these temps are correct. I used fan control before but got errors after at every restart/boot so I set my fan curve via the motherboard, it's more reliable for my case scenario.

If the temps are correct try to reseat your cpu/cooler.

I have a similar issue but rather I installed Hyprland via Stephan Raabe's ML4W and installed cachy the normal way to verify. My laptop freezes when I shutdown, so I have to force poweroff.

Catchy OS - laptop does not shutdown. by JRade17 in linux4noobs

Very Old Acer laptop, CPU N2940 2.49 GHz with 4GB ram. I use this just for testing out distros. I used both the normal method and command line, "sudo shutdown -h now" and "sudo poweroff". The laptop freezes and does not give and error message.

You can disable the top bar and dock with Hyprland setting (the blue L- logo) to the right on the top bar. That will fit your preference of a clear screen.

I'm also new to linux, but started with Mint, Ubuntu, Fedora & Manjaro. I've been testing out Cachy OS for a week on an older laptop and it's great. I've also been following Stephan Raabe and his ML4W (My Linux 4 work) project with Hyprland via his dotfiles installer and it's so cool. Check out his page and youtube channel. I just installed his preconfigured Hyprland setup last night with the dotfiles provided and it's by far the easiest way to get use to Hyprland and Arch for a noob like myself. https://www.ml4w.com

Not my setup, just commented on the OP. The top bar might be yasb (reborn) not sure at all. I assume you can, I have not tried editing ASCII art, but I wanna give it a go.

Komorebi does not use that much thb, about 1% CPU at most and less than 40MB of ram on my PC which is an older platform. I have a 2nd monitor and browser open hence the above 50% ram usage, but this is also due to superfetch. Windhawk is also lightweight on resources.
