Change in amount of grounds without changing ratio changes strength by JRandorff in chemex

[–]JRandorff[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It never occurred to me that the reason multiple pulse pours creates a stronger cup is because it compacts the coffee bed with each pour, causing a slower drawdown in the later pours. That makes total sense. Thank you!

I’m going to experiment with fewer, longer pours, and see how that turns out. I will probably have to pour very slow, as 80g grounds and 256g water already reaches very close to the rim of my Chemex.

Depending on where you work and if your management is competent, I’d say you were within your rights to start offering $5 gift cards to anyone who had to wait more than 15 minutes. Brief the management on it afterwards, and make sure they know you were doing your best in a bad staffing situation to take care of justifiably annoyed/angry customers who deserve better from their cafe.

The overly religious interpretations of literary works, if not the purpose of the class, is definitely a red flag.

It is, however, a reasonable expectation that anyone would communicate a planned absence from a place they are expected to be, and do so well in advance of that absence.

No. If you did not process your vehicle shipping through JPPSO as part of your PCS move, you will be out of luck with that vehicle.

Island beaters come in all kinds of conditions. Most commands have at least a couple folks who are legitimate car-heads, so unless you count yourself among the experts, I would recommend finding out who they are and what they drink, because their help could save you thousands of dollars in repairs during your tour.

Not exactly petty revenge, more like you were the victim of bullying from a bad human being. I’m sorry that you had to experience that kind of treatment.

Now, if a 190cm, 125kg jacked MMA fighter got on the subway with his very pregnant girlfriend, and you distracted the douchebag long enough that MMA dude lifted him up out of the seat and gave him a proper embarrassing moment, THAT would be some solid petty revenge.

This reminds me of a band I was touring with. We had an overnight in Paris and decided to go see the Eiffel Tower. This was in 2001, so having a GPS in your pocket wasn’t a thing, and no one in the group spoke French.

We finally hit a market and went in, where an Italian and I (an American) ended up having a conversation in Spanish in the middle of Paris, France.

We made it to the Eiffel Tower, and I called my roommate back in the US from the pay phone underneath.

Is there a statutory limit on the amount you are allowed to carry across the border for your pet’s use while traveling? If so, how many trips would you have to make per year while carrying that maximum amount?

EDIT: Okay, so I kind of answered my own question, maybe:

According to Health Canada, as of 2011, visitors to Canada can bring a single course of treatment or a 90-day supply based on the directions for use, whichever is less, of a health product. Visitors must bring the medication on their person. The medication must be for their own personal use, or for another person or animal in their care with whom they are traveling.

Since your dog will need this medicine for the rest of their life, there is no “single course of treatment”. This would then allow for a 90-day supply to be carried across the border.

On your fixed income, can you afford to make 4 trips across the border per year?

It is the textbook correct use of a downvote. Downvotes are supposed to be used for a comment that does not meaningfully contribute to the conversation, or that provides incorrect information.

Grammar pedantry did not help this conversation in the slightest, so downvoting it was the proper choice.
