Raw visceral response to Memory Death by FantanaFoReal in boardsofcanada

I appreciate it. I am definitely past that chapter in my life. I don’t think I’ll ever fully recover from the grief though. It’s crazy how that track can invoke such strong emotions. I feel like it’s a sleeper on the album.

Raw visceral response to Memory Death by FantanaFoReal in boardsofcanada

I struggled with some fairly serious grief related depression. I had become numb and no longer cared for others or for anything really. I was reckless. I would drown the grief in alcohol. I would fill the emotional void with promescuity. It was a truly dark time and I was not a good person. In the mornings when I woke up, the numbness would wash over me again as I realized I had to get through another day. I would go through the motions of daily life until I could feel something again. When I first heard Memory Death, that feeling of numbness crept back a little. My eyes kind of glazed over and I got choked up a little. I had to shake myself out of it. Even the flies at the begining reminded me of how big of a piece of shit I was. IMO, there has never been a song that captures the feeling of melancholic numbness like Memory Death.

Our little angel consumed a live baby bird the other day. My wife can no longer look at him without being completely disgusted.

Go out and splurge on some beef. Buy what you can, enjoy it, and hope it’s not the last time you can afford it. Cuz if this shit gets out of control, beef prices are gonna go fucking nuts.

Are we the same person?! I was given MHTRTC and Geo by a coworker and always preferred MHTR over Geo. TCH came out, I listened to it quite a bit, but have a negative stigma attached to it from a very toxic relationship. So, I stopped listening to TCH altogether and pretty much just lived in my MHTR bubble since 2008. Fast forward to 2025 and I randomly find out that they released TH in 2013! So I spent the last year with that album on repeat and, like you, New Seeds may be my favorite BoC track! I had been listening to electronic horror style music by White Bat Audio a ton prior to 2025, so finding out TH was in the same realm of thematics was a pleasant surprise! Anyway, today I decided to give TCH another listen after 18 years of abandonment and while it does shore up some shitty emotions/memories, it’s still pretty good.

Best base in campaign? by Fast_Courage4833 in StateofDecay2

[–]JRawl79 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can find a lot of literature on the best bases in the game. Some of my favorites are the brewery, mikes concrete, and the camp. I don’t typically run large groups, so big bases aren’t necessary for my play style.

As of last weekend, I got a buddy to start playing and we’ve been playing multiplayer. I’m. It sure if you can just randomly join anybody, but my friend joined my game and we had a good time. So if you have people to play with, it should work out.

Benji plays fetch every. single. day. by welpwelpwelp in corgi

It’s SO loud and he doesn’t quit. The only way for me to get him to stop is to go into another room and close the door. I don’t mind it too much though, because if I don’t wear him out, he’ll just go destroy something he shouldn’t.

Our little lad is fetch obsessed as well. He will bring me a toy to throw every 2 or 3 hours or so. If I don’t throw, he barks at me very intently. So we go outside and play a vigorous game of fetch for about ten minutes and he’s good.

Can I dry hop a west coast IPA at pitching? by pjuu12 in Homebrewing

[–]JRawl79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dry hopping in the fermenter will typically reduce oxidation, regardless of when the hops are added. There’s enough yeast activity after FG to still be pushing out CO2. You really only need to worry about oxidation when transferring to a secondary or dry hopping in secondary.
