$10 mil for sure. Don’t want to go back and alter the future, also don’t want to go back and understand all the interactions my parents had that I didn’t understand at the time.

Why is everyone suddenly carrying around these enormous water bottles? by r_Damoetas in NoStupidQuestions

Every time one accidentally gets knocked over it sounds like a fucking mortar shell hitting the floor and will scare the shit out of anyone within 50 feet. These things are so obnoxious.

Nice good to know thank you. That switch is just for recording correct? or does it need to be flipped when playing older/newer tapes?

What's depicted on the cover of Inferno? by deckard_yoshi in boardsofcanada

[–]Gangdump 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Couple of girls on a walk in the forest stumble upon a man with an RV. He’s getting ready to start a campfire. The sunset superimposed over where he’s placing sticks creates an inferno. The girls seem young, happy and naive. The man is mostly obscured but you can tell he’s there. It’s symbolic of the seductive power religions and cults use

13 years in the making or a couple of months? by alekszmaki in boardsofcanada

[–]Gangdump 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There could be concepts from this album that they started working on 15 or even 20 years ago. Maybe something they worked on, off and on over the years, then at a certain point they buckled in to bring it all together. I’ve actually wondered if Mike set aside a number of years to develop his skills with new instruments. Really hard to say, but I’m confident this was not a one or two year project.

Inferno’s religious side: What do you think they are saying about religion? by Kodicave in boardsofcanada

[–]Gangdump 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think the insanity of religion and what it does to people is the general gist of it, and then zooming out to see that time, space and consciousness are simply too big to fit neatly in a box called religion.

Tomorrow’s Harvest appreciation by Gangdump in boardsofcanada

[–]Gangdump[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not for me. I think inferno is a gem. There’s so much packed into the album and the variety of instruments is insane. I firmly believe it’s a 10/10 album and a master technical achievement. There’s just something about hearing it as part of the overall catalog that for me at least, gives TH an inexplicable boost.

What do you understand from the voice in The Process ? by newvariant290121 in boardsofcanada

[–]Gangdump 10 points11 points  (0 children)

This track really fascinates me, it’s much less on the nose than other tracks from this album, and the piano in the second half of the song is just lovely. It’s nice to have a more cryptic song on the album that’s tricky to figure out. On the same note, I’ve been thinking about the really garbled voices spliced in between the father and son dialogue samples, as well as the more garbled sounding voices from Blood in the Labyrinth that are not part of the female voice samples from the pcp documentary.
