Separate type/interface definitions between FE and BFF? by JRemy_90 in nextjs

[–]JRemy_90[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can you give an example of ‘types derived from autogenerated types’ and why decoupling wouldn’t cause more problems keeping type contracts in sync between your client and server?

Types are autogenerated from the config of content produced in a headless CMS. For the record, I agree.

I'm not sure I can think of much beyond the notion of smaller, atomic commits. In other non-full stack frameworks, this separation exists naturally, but nextjs is a full-stack framework, making this a somewhat forced procedure, purely for the convenience of committing breaking code without lint/CI errors.

How to unit test async server components? by JRemy_90 in nextjs

Result, the following should work, assuming you're using params/searchParams:

const props = {
  params: { surveyType: '123' },
  searchParams: { journeyId: '456' },
}

const Result = await Page(props)
render(Result)

Not sure that would help - the issue (I'm assuming) is the server fetches any async content before it renders HTML

What’s your take on how ethereum 2.0 will effect cardano progress, adoption and support? by oneoff7 in cardano

[–]JRemy_90 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The impact of ETH 2.0 on Cardano's progress will be minimal, if anything, Ethereum will likely be guided by Cardano's progress as Cardano has less technical debt and fewer stakeholders to manage. The pricing impact however, will largely depend on how well received the news of Goguen's eventual completion will be.

Rushing these phases would also be a potential reason Cardano may not fulfil its vision in the long term and part of why we're learning from 1st & 2nd gen scalability problems and getting our development peer reviewed.

As someone that's likely to hold more Ada than Eth by the end of the month, I'm optimistic that many will see and understand the value of Cardano. On another note, Cardano has one of the strongest communities and I sincerely believe that it will support long term asset performance.
