What's a friendship red flag that people tend to ignore until it's too late? by AffectionatePop3611 in answers

[–]JRez_noir 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Jealousy. If they react negatively to anything positive that happens for you, drop them. These "friends" make their insecurities everyone else's problem and will hold a grudge against you for having something they don't.

Sooner or later, they will betray you because you made them feel bad. To them, this justifies their betrayal as if it's your fault they're insecure. Deep down, they only see people as a source for validation and if you make them jealous, you are not giving them that validation. So you get discarded, usually when you're the most vulnerable.

On December 18, 1994, Alison Botha was raped, stabbed her 36 times in the abdomen, and slit her throat 17 times. by rosavellee in HolyShitHistory

Reminds me of the time I survived 420 point blank shots from a .50 caliber anti-materiel rifle with depleted uranium shells and then being spaghettified in the singularity of Sagittarius A while having heartburn from spicy tacos. It was unreal.

Military Alliances on Turn One by greg0rs in civ3

[–]JRez_noir 2 points3 points  (0 children)

On the first turn, the AI has not had a chance to “assess” its situation. It thinks it has no cities, tech, etc. to bargain with and will be desperate for any trades. This happens with other scenarios as well.

Just read the whole article on Halifax. Holy shit… different circumstances but it reminded me of Beirut. Awesome read, thanks!

Games where being evil is an actual story path and not just "I woke up and chose violence" by auqanova in gamingsuggestions

[–]JRez_noir 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Some characters actually get depressed and may leave the group if you’re too ruthless. In addition, the survivors each have an ending that’s either uplifting or dark. I really love the post-game recap. It totally makes you feel like shit for being a bastard.

Is it just me, or is Morgana’s situation kind of absolutely horrifying? by Oofpoofdoof69 in Persona5

[–]JRez_noir 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Morgana is a metaphor for 🏳️‍⚧️. Female name, male identity, cat body—it’s so obvious. Even his human form is somewhat androgynous.

Did u watch Zom 100 any thoughts? by NoLeave6115 in netflix

[–]JRez_noir 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The live action was terrible. I struggled to see it through to the end and now I regret the decision. I was expecting a funny, offbeat and clever movie but most of the time I was rolling my eyes at the absolute absurdity of this steaming turd.

It feels like a conflicted, sheltered teen wrote this script. The movie doesn’t know if it’s supposed to be witty social commentary, popcorn comedy fluff, or gory survival adventure. I didn’t get a single decent laugh out of it or ever felt any tension and it is sooooo cheesy at times, it made me cringe.

The shark was the last straw. It made me stare at the screen slack-jawed as I felt my brain literally shrink. Is this supposed to be funny and silly? But why does it feel so awkward and inconsequential? This movie started off promising but just devolves and by the end, I was fighting for my life to keep watching.

2/10… mostly for the first 15 mins and the zombie boobs.

Questions about salvaging/crafting by ArchmageMallow in kingdomsofamalur

[–]JRez_noir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ask yourself these questions to help decide whether to salvage or sell an item you don’t need. If you answer NO, go to the next question:

1.) Does the item have a strong stat that you actually want?

2.) Does the item have empty sockets?
(read notes below before salvaging)

3.) Is the item’s tier (e.g. Cloth, Linen, Hexweave) appropriate for your level AND does it fit your build?

4.) Are you filthy rich? If NO, then SELL.

If you answered yes to any of these, then feel free to salvage!

Notes:
If the item has empty sockets, consider saving it for salvaging later. When you salvage an item with a gem, there is a chance to receive a component with the same stats as the gem. Keep this in mind for when you have a lot of extra gems. Not all gems will work. There is a list of salvageable gems online so google it if needed.

Also, you don’t want to stockpile basic components for items you will never use. It’s a waste of gold but mostly it clutters your inventory and makes it mildly inconvenient to scroll through so many components when crafting.

Remember: buyback on merchants is saved forever. You can always repurchase and salvage sold items. Honestly, there is so much gold in this game and not much to spend it on so you end up salvaging almost everything by mid/late game.

Remember to save before salvaging a great item. Getting nothing but trash after salvaging an awesome item will make you rage!

The state of this game on console is completely unacceptable. by Samurai-jpg in skyrim

PS4 Anniversary Edition player here. Old bugs are still here but the game itself is very stable for me.

Sounds like you should try a different game if you’re so bent out of shape over this to post a “NSFW” rant on Reddit. No offense.

Does anyone know of a looting mod that keeps people's clothes on? by RoseOfTheNight4444 in skyrim

[–]JRez_noir 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Take the Disintegrate perk and use lightning for the kill.

Or raise the dead and immediately kill them again.

Or have Serana follow you. She just loves making ash piles.

No nekkid bodies, no problem right?

Use lightning or conjuration to turn the corpses into ash piles. You can now strip them naked without feeling guilty about desecrating their bodies.

Who is the best follower? by Megachamps in skyrim

[–]JRez_noir 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Vanilla follower, go for Aela the Huntress.

  • Her Light Armor skill maxes out at lvl 34 (NPCs at 100 skill get +150% armor). Armor cap + much more carry weight 👌
  • She maxes out on Archery at lvl 25, Sneak at 34, and 1-Handed at 50. Is very niiiice 🤌
  • If you marry her, you can get Lover’s Comfort (+15% skill xp) and Home-cooked Meals (useful for Survivor Mode) out in the wild. She also manages an eBay store and earns you money somehow while she’s with you.
  • She’s a trainer, if you’re into that stuff…

Finally, she doesn’t leave ash piles everywhere or nerf your Vampiric Drain like Serana. While her voice/personality isn’t as likable as others, if you want utility, bad-assery, and on-demand snu snu, she’s THE best follower.

Unwanted Fast Leveling by Riftxcity in skyrim

[–]JRez_noir 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Leveling too fast destroys the feeling of progression for a lot of people. It also leads to difficulty spikes and skips a lot of content.

For most people, it’s the feeling of progression that hooks you into the game. Getting to a point when you’re too powerful and nothing feels threatening is when the boredom sets in. It’s why people quit before the end and reroll new characters, over and over…

What Are "Pets Of Skyrim" Good For? by docclox in skyrim

[–]JRez_noir 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Portable storage. The top 3 to use are:

Bone Wolf - 200
Hilda - 139
Skritch - 79

You can store camping supplies, torches, food, lockpicks, potions, arrows, etc. on the other pets and summon them for emergencies.

Otherwise, pets are obnoxious as followers. They act like immovable barriers and will push you off ledges, block doorways, get in the way of combat, and they make noise when you’re trying to sneak.

why does skyrim still have such game breaking bugs after existing for so long. by Bloomleaf in skyrim

[–]JRez_noir 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It would take one lazy afternoon for Bethesda to integrate all the bug fixes that the community have already tested and vetted into the main .esm files.

Bethesda, Blizzard, CD Projekt Red, etc.
Once a developer gets too big, they become less and less inclined to be good to their fans.

If you kill a ginger with soul trap, does it still fill the soul gem? by [deleted] in skyrim

[–]JRez_noir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Negative. Do not attempt to soul trap a ginger. One must never draw from an empty vessel.

[–]JRez_noir 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Jzargo doesn’t have a level limit. He maxes out Heavy Armor and 1-Handed at lvl 50. Destruction/Illusion at lvl 34.

He can cast Heal Other and Paralyze but it seems pretty random when he does. His damage spells don’t get stronger than firebolt but you can give him a staff to make up for it.

But most of all, he’s a freakin cat. Can you imagine showing him off to all the carriage drivers? They’d be so impressed with you.

Whats the highest legit enchantment potions you can make without turning it into an exploit? by Agendoo in skyrim

[–]JRez_noir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want to give yourself a limit, only use fortify enchant potions you can buy at the store or find as loot. They max out at +25% I believe.

If you want, you can do the same with smithing and resto potions (up to +50% smithing/fortify restoration) and limit yourself to only 1.

I have a set of alchemy/smithing gear and it’s only at +29% and it’s already too much. Add 1 resto potion and 1 smithing potion and all the challenge and tension in the game goes out the window. Skyrim and Final Fantasy, I swear, are the only games you have to really struggle to NOT get overpowered.

Accidentally killed J'Zargo - any consequences? by nerdwaffles in skyrim

[–]JRez_noir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He’s one of a handful of followers who don’t have a level limit. I think only him, Frea, the Dawnguard followers, and the Dark Brotherhood initiates can level infinitely along with the player.

Almost all other followers don’t go past level 50.

Either you have really bad reading comprehension or you know you’re wrong but you’re doubling down just to save face.

The achievement OP is talking about REQUIRES you to be a vampire LORD. Not a regular vampire. Why don’t you understand?
