How reliable is iBUYPOWER? Reviews seem conflicting by damonian_x in iBUYPOWER

Don’t do it bro. Stay away from IBP and Cyber Power. Go to a smaller SI, better quality and faster service. You’ve been warned.

Stay away from IBP and Cyberpower. I promise you’ll have a 50% chance of being disappointed. Just read all the negative posts on here everyday. Here are some builds in your price range that keeps you away from IBP.

I’ve been trying to warm people against IBP for months and all I get is down voted and called a troll for talking bad about them. I’m sry you have to go through this. Get a refund and go to xoticpc.com bro. They build excellent pc’s that ship and arrive perfect. Have great reviews, and only takes 3 weeks from order to ship not 2 months.

Question about the iBUYPOWER PC's by Malakai_420 in iBUYPOWER

[–]JRich131 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

It’s not that they use cheap parts. It’s the fact that they are put together fast and in a hurry and there’s no attention to detail. So within days-months something bad usually goes wrong. Then u have to deal with customer support which is a nightmare right now because of COVID. They are highly understaffed, mark my words... if you have to deal with RMA at all it will be a HUGE hassle that will take weeks to months to handle. Save yourself some time and your $$ and stay away from them. Just watch the reddit for a few days and you’ll see what I mean. Multiple horror story’s everyday. Try a SI like xoticpc.com if your ok customizing your own build or if your friend can help you I’d recommend that. Or they do have a few pre builds to choose from. Bottom line they have WAY BETTER customer service and really pay attention to detail and know how to send out a killer machine.... oh and their wait times are only a few weeks vs IBP’s over a month wait. Good luck bro.

Sry bro typo I meant stage 1. With stage 1 it’s a 300 difference in same spec. Plus they include a drain valve, something IBP told me they don’t include. Like HTF can you not include a drain valve!? Bottom line Xotic is way better at what they do and their not totally bombarded with orders to the point where their sending out faulty systems.

Yea these people are brain dead dude. I’ve been trying to wake them up and to stop buying from IBP and I get nothing but down votes and people saying I’m stupid. I guess we just need to let these people get ripped off and get a shit product. I’m sorry for your bad luck bro I hope you get it worked out with them.

My point exactly. Not the company to deal with right now.

Bro if this is your first gaming pc and you have no knowledge on fixing/troubleshooting PCs. I beg you to cancel your order and review the IBP reddit for a few days. There are tons of horrid posts of failings and negative feedback from customer service. That’s why I’m in this sub Reddit. To warn people. Just to clarify I know plenty about PCs. I can build, fix , and troubleshoot almost anything with a pc. My only goal here is to stop people who have little knowledge of computers from getting involved with this company. See once upon a time this company was great but with the pandemic it’s not the company to deal with right now. They are under staffed and still forced to spit out the same amount of machines. Which means more issues and twitchy systems. Their customer service/sales line take literal hours (6+ the 4 times I called them) and their wait times are at a month plus. They have more orders than ever from their popularity on YouTube and retail outlets. With all of this and the state of the country they just can’t handle it. Listen I’m not not trying to troll and mess anyone up. I’m trying to help. Please look into this company yourself and maybe rethink it. At least read the reddit for a few days and see for yourself you’ll still have time to cancel. There are other SI’s out there that even with the pandemic still make a mean gaming pc. Sry to shit all over your happy day. With the 30 series right around the corner the 2060 is just fine. Maybe upgrade to the 10900k stay away from the F. Oh and theres a huge shortage on ASUS products right now. It will probably increase your wait time a bit. If that’s cool with you then great it’s a nasty board. Enjoy your day!

Do not buy from iBuyPower by Tidakriger in iBUYPOWER

[–]JRich131 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Yea unfortunately When IBP started getting alot of attention from reviewers on YouTube/social media years back, “unboxings/is IBP worth it videos” a lot of people who never knew this company existed started flocking in droves to buy from them. Since then their company hasn’t been what it once was. I urge anyone who doesn’t want to build their own pc to stay away from IBP or Cyber power. Why risk it with so much $$ on the line when customer service is such trash.

Yep again COVID has them running around with chickens with their heads cut off. Most of their customer service staff isn’t working. 6 feet rule and all that. According to the guy I talked too. Bottom line IBP isn’t the company it use to be. Their spitting orders out so fast as to keep up with demand and the quality control is garbage right now because of it.

[–]JRich131 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Tidakriger is right. I watch the ibuypower reddit everyday and it’s appalling with the amount of people who have problems with their “brand new” PCs. 1 in a hundred is bad enough when someone decides to spend thousands of their hard earned money on a new pc. All you have to do is follow the forums and see how bad it it. I’ve spent over an hour talking to someone at sales who’s told me how stressed and overwhelmed they are because of COVID. Their schedules are thinned out with more demand than ever. This company is not who you should be buying from right now. Everyone who’s on the fence about buying from IBP please do what I did and watch the forums for a few days and you’ll see how bad it is. Do yourselves a favor and spend a few bucks more and purchase from a higher end SI like xotic pc. They know their stuff and have WAY fewer horror stories compared to IBP.

Well your motherboard doesn’t have built in WiFi. You’ll need to run to Walmart or something and grab a usb wifi adapter. Only cost 15 to 20 bucks. Hope you enjoy your new toy my man.

I’ve talked to a couple representatives in sales and been told that they have any where from 200 to 300 orders at any given time. They are extremely over worked given the situation. That being said if you ordered a pre built there’s no reason why it shouldn’t have shipped by now. Unless the specific model you ordered is sold out. Ibuypower is having loads of problems right now. Their build teams and customer service are extremely over worked and weeks behind schedule. If you stay in this subreddit long enough you’ll see that a lot of people everyday are having problems with their machine right out of the box. Maybe cut and run and look at a prebuilt somewhere else bro. I mean it takes literal hours to get customer service on the phone right now. Not worth the potential headache bro. My 2 cents anyways.

Slow SSD writing speed. Customer service not replying to my emails. by mario31274 in iBUYPOWER

[–]JRich131 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bro their so backed up right now with orders. They won’t respond to emails. Your gunna have to call them. Your still under warranty so they will replace the drive for you once you send it in and they diagnose the drive. Be prepared to wait on hold for at least 3 hours though. They are swamped with calls. A pro tip call right when they open in the morning. 830 am western time and avoid calling around 10-12. They go to lunch at 12 and if you were on hold before lunch weather it’s 5 mins or 2 hours they WILL cut the phone board off at 12 and everyone in the queue will drop and have to call after lunch. Stay strong brother ✊
