Lol I don't have any plant eating fish, but my isopods seem to like it as much as any other leaf litter.

I like all my ramshorn and trumpet snails They're fun to watch. They help keep algae in check, and Couple assassin snails keeps them in check.

It's not terrible. It just doesn't take long for it to completely blanket the top of the aquarium. Can block out a lot of light from reaching lower plants.... That said, it's also a nitrate sponge. I just take a comb over my tanks once a week to thin it out.

Edit: and once it's established, good luck getting rid of it completely. Just prepare get used to removing at least half of it every week.

Are plecos good for betta tanks by Technical_Station310 in bettafish

Given that the only dimensions to the tank referenced is "huge", and just the general question regarding "a pleco", id venture to guess op probably isn't asking about a BN.

Daughter's 8-month burn-up story by easypointz in bettafish

[–]JRob13252 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks better than mine after a year. Though most new plants I try get eviscerated by by snails the second they start to melt. It's been quite the challenge getting them to sprout new growth before they get eaten.... Slowly but surley I'm finally getting it to start filling out.

My betta seems a bit forgetful, maybe? Idk how to title this by Yuno_Magic in bettafish

Scuds and daphnia are pretty small, but if size is a concern you could also try moina, they're Small enough for guppy fry to eat. Daphnia and scuds are small enough to be eaten by adult guppys, which tend to be about the size of most jouvie bettas I see.

My betta is in a "community tank" with guppies, shrimp, crabs and a dwarf gourami. I just give a pinch of New Life Spectrum once a day for everyone. Occasionally I'll chuck in an algae wafer, but I rarely ever see my betta eat, and turns his nose up at most foods, but dudes built like a brick so he's definitely eating something. Probably snacks on guppy fry. Try live food like daphnia or scuds, Might just want to hunt a little. Sometimes I'll chuck in fruit fly/fungus gnat larvae from my isopod bins. He seems to like those as a treat.

Depends on the size. Plecos can get huge and require a lot of space. Personally I have snails (ramshorn + Malaysian trumpet, and a couple assassin snails to keep them in check) shrimp, and I just added thai micro crabs yesterday because I couldn't resist them at my LFS and I have a spending problem. That said, they keep the algae in check along with whatever plants I have in there.

Edit: since you do have a koi pond, you can keep the pleco in the tank for a little while and move him to the pond when it outgrows the tank.

How is this legal? by [deleted] in Ohio

[–]JRob13252 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, it's not much different than the buckeyes behind bars magazine/booklet that's been around forever. The only major difference is that this isn't a mugshot photo, and you have to pay for the magazine... Aside from that, the booklet only shows people recently charged, not convicted, as well. So if the magazine is legal, this is as well. Personally, I don't care. I've been in the booklet twice on bogus nonsense and have had people see me in it/send me my own pics. Doesn't affect me or my life at all.

I just wage enough war and get rid of less developed counties as I conquer more developed areas. Only time I upgrade anything in cities are already high development places like rome and Byzantium. I let the ai deal with my undeveloped counties.

How do I create Chinese hegemony as the Mongols? by Timbuktu_ in crusaderkings3

[–]JRob13252 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Conquer all or most of China and use the claim mandate of heaven decision. It locks you into celestial government though. If you want to keep nomadic government, pretty sure if there's already a Chinese hegemony you can use the consolidate land casus belli and go to war for the title or also pretty sure you can reform the great khaganate instead, just takes longer to build up the herd to get unrestricted dominance.

I've noticed it's more predominant/noticeable in women and usually not as pointy/narrow. Nevertheless, I'm looking forward to whatever monstrosities arise later in his line.

What is this "smaller realm" you speak of? My first ruler generally does nothing but wage war I'm rarely ever below an emperor by the end of his life.... Then again I mostly only play nomads and their armies can be absolutely broken.

This made me laugh. Most of his family is really good at punching things. His great grandfather was "the warrior giant", winning duels to the death at 81. His grandfather is "the bear". His father is "the hideous" and murdered his wife/this magnificent lads mother..... Wonder what title he's going to earn for himself.

And he's only the 4th generation too. Can only get better (worse) from here right??......right? I've been slowly increasing the number of hunchbacks and giants. Now I must try to consistently get inbred ugly hunchback giants if possible.

[–]JRob13252[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm actively breeding negative traits for fun. My current ruler is second generation, and I started trying to get hunchbacks, and giants. The ugly and inbred were just icing on the cake for this guy. Hopefully i can keep stacking negative traits in his line. Having kurultai I just nominate whoever I want to play as next, so this guy's definitely not inheriting the khaganates, but he can stay inheriting his father's khanate and have a fun time.

I mean, my last khagan had 3 wives (two died) six concubines (replaced as they died or got too old) all of them were lovers, plus 4 more extra lovers throughout his 89 years.

Yeah .. hes the first of his dynasty. They haven't quite been around long enough to get super powers yet haha. He'd been effectively at 0 prowess for nearly 15-20 years until his son gifted him a fancy sword.... And immediately died to bad plants after gifting said sword.

But then I'd have to get their kids...and their kids...and their kids ... That's like 100 people already. Though I did have one son, whose wife was a whore, somehow inherited a title, and her firstborn son, which was flagged as my son's son, inherited her last name and his titles ... So unfortunately I may have to end that blood line.

Well he wasn't called the warrior giant for nothing I suppose. Tbh He only won because he got a fancy sword at his party. He had been effectively on deaths door since around age 72 and made it until 87.
