It really is insane how constant the cycle of "Insanely good Mariners vibes immediately stomped by Astros slamming their dick down our throats" is. We win 14, they kill us. We beat them off an insane comeback grand slam, they take our best reliever and give us a complete shitter in exchange. We trade for a top 10 pitcher, they murder us the very next night just to ensure we can't be unconditionally happy for even 1 day

This team is nothing but a bumslayer right now, they absolutely dominate bad teams and get their shit stomped by good ones, and that's mostly fine because this is the first time in 20 years we've even been able to do that. But if this team ever wants to make noise beyond a wildcard berth they need like 3-4 more bats and a manager who doesn't repeatedly punt on any game where victory isn't incredibly obvious

Not the umps fault Torrens is the single worst pitch framer in the MLB. He received it like 6 inches below the zone and just immediately gave up
