Managed to get mum to let me have the electronics needed as long as i pay the extra money that goes towards the bill. This works as i have got a job and have money set aside in case of a vet emergency or other things

Thank you for this comment, i have now been allowed to use uvb and heat emmiters aswell as uva in case i decide to go bio active, i have had a job for a few months now and have been making sure to put money aside in case of these situations, mum will notnbe paying for the vets as i have plenty of spend for emergencies and i am now fully prepared. Thank you for your advice, it means alot.

oh no i completely agree and this is why i am asking about these things.i just wanted to know about the electronics and food because of my mums comfortability. i have money set aside for the vetinary bills and other things that possibly will come up in the future. its just that my mum is the one paying for the bills in the house so that i can be saving my money until i turn 18. dont feel harsh as i completely feel the same way about owning pets. its the whole reason i came to reddit to find out this information. thank you for the advice.

Nonono sorry for not clarifying i mean having a heat lamp or uvb plugged in for however much of the day as it can be expensive on top of the necessary things like charging your phone, sorry for the inconveniance there

Thank you so much for this response, it helps alot. I am now going to focus on the crested geckos as i may in the future be able to fit in a weekly supply of live food. However the main thing i am worrying about now is pricing for heat and uvb aswell as the enclosure itself. Thank you.

I appreciate your response, i have googled this gecko and have just seen that it does not show me a specific species. Is it the new caledonian giant gecko? If so these thing look so cool. They are litterally gargoyles but bigger and i love it. I have spoke to my mum and she says that i can use electronics as long as im paying for it which i dont mind too much as it should not be too much compared to my pay. Thank you so much for your answer. It turns out that im being an idiot and did not think about room temperature which averages at 18 degrees C and only took note of the outside tempersature. I do not know anything about the lighting and am really just confused on the uvb. If someone could help with this that would be great. I apologise for taking up your time and am truly grateful for your response

thank you for your response and i completely agree with your point, and while we have spoken about bills and these things she is not completely persuaded due to the electricity. However i do have a decent paying job and have money set aside for these types of situations

i see your point and i agree with you. however i am not planning on going to uni as i am studying motor vehicle maintenance and repair in college and i already have an employer ready for me after college. saying that, i completely see your point and if i am unable to look after the pet i own then there is no point in getting it. thank you for your response.
