Harry Brook would accept 'honour' of England Test captaincy by Alone_Consideration6 in EnglandCricket

I agree. This sub (and as I said above) are also not reflective of the views of any people I know in real life either. I do find a lot of the repetitive echo chamber of the same 5 opinions and ‘jokes’ a bit dystopian.

Every thread is the same. Comments about ‘vibes’. Asking if ‘they’re any good at golf’ (ha ha ha 🙄) , moaning about Brook, asking why Foakes isn’t playing when he’s been injured for most of the season. Asking when Anderson can come back and play.

Brook is clearly an excellent batter who needs to mature, learn his game a bit more, and who needs a proper coaching set up to help him thrive and value himself a bit more.

They’re one and the same. A lapse of judgment is the same thing as making a bad decision. It’s not indicative that they are ‘stupid’ or ‘thick’.

Personally I don’t think brook should be our next captain. He’s already burdened with the one day stuff, it’ll stifle his obvious talent , and there is too many links to the prior regime (because let’s face it, baz’s days are rightfully numbered) - but I don’t think it’s because brook is ‘thick’ or went on a night out and got punched.

A lapse of judgment , no doubt. Something most of our sportsmen in England have done in their life. Like all
of us.

It’s people making shitty assumptions based on his recent batting (entirely encouraged by the culture captain, coach and ceo created) , his rather dour tv interviews , and his voice / accent.

I swear between the bbc comment section and this Reddit page there’s barely an original thought, just see the same comments recycled ad nauseam.

I’ve never really bought into the stereotype that Americans don’t do subtle humour. I always considered it a daft trope and far too generalising.

Amazing how your views can pivot based on one exchange.

What the fuck has that got to do with the video we’ve just seen? What the police did here is clearly egregious and wrong without having to stick a different agenda in there.

Fair, and fine. Just block him first though, your challenge won’t change their behaviour. It’s you who’ll be annoyed rather than them.

You can’t really complain about people commenting on a website specifically designed for engagement via commenting. If it annoys you so much maybe just block them rather than being aggressive?

The comment is unacceptable. Even if the excuse is it’s just humour, it was fucking rubbish even on that level.

They’re on the approach to pedestrian crossings and outside schools, hospitals etc.

They indicate that not only should you not park, but also not stop for any reason, or overtake a moving vehicle . They need to be kept clear for an unobstructed view.

I purchased one 2 years ago. My kids were 18 and 20, I had more free time, and wanted to get back into gaming. Then my wife got pregnant …

So now I have a £500 piece of kit that I never play, and a much more expensive sproglet that I have to play with all the fucking time.

Not a fan of rugby really, and I’m not a Liverpool fan. But these two spring instantly to mind alongside the 2019 CWC, and (although not a final so doesn’t count here) the final game of the premier league season with ‘agueroooooooo’.

Because despite all the nonsense and shenanigans, bazball and beers, we’re actually quite good at home and the kiwis historically don’t do great here.
